Mostly, the ZT is so so much faster with a 60” deck than the tractor and 72” RFM. I just finished mowing all yard with ZT except for over the hill to the creek.

Lazy day today. It was a very nice 65° this morning and only got to 78° this afternoon. A nice 3/4" rain overnight and more predicted for early morning tomorrow.

After all our family weekend guests headed out mid-day, I spent some time working on the rolling ladder project and a couple of things for our grand daughter.

I got the second stability strut drilled so .. after checking a few things, in the morning, it's ready to go to sand blast and prime. With all the daily rains, in our current forecast, I may just wait a few days.





This is the "Freedom Rock" at the Iowa Veterans Cemetary where my Mom and Dad are interred. The granite was donated by a local veteran, who owns a quarry and the great artwork .. by a gentlemen who's goal is to do one in every one of Iowa's 99 counties. I believe this is his 78th one and likely the largest.

Thanks top ... fortunately my phone was in my pocket and illuminating the immediate environs was a quick and easy task ...

I grilled some angus ribeyes, Ellen cooked corn on the cob and twice baked potatoes and made a big salad.
It was without a doubt the best steak I’ve had in 20 years. Now I’m lazy as a pig.

My dad was Army, Omaha Beach, my mom was a Sky Watcher, still has her wings. I know Memorial Day is for those we lost in service, but I’m very proud of them.

Good evening all. I forgot to mention a Memorial Day observance was canceled due to rain, got to the location and no one was there. That was disappointing.
RS interesting story. I need to rethink having lightening alerts on the phone.

Buckeye, interesting. When getting ready to move sold off tractor with 60 RFM, and went zturn with 48 mow deck. I was getting about the same time with either machine by itself, but if I mow what the tractor did well and used the zturn for tight areas and trim that cut my mow time under 2 hours. 3 acres on a hill, with some woods and a steep embankment

Randy as you should be. Dad was going to be a pilot, just as he got assigned to training squadron, order came down no more training. HE was assigned to be on occupational force in Europe. Uncle was on minesweeper in Pacific

It is a different shed, basically a 3 sided loafing shed, where the nest was. No work inside, but the shed that is being taken down, will be repurposed as an add-on to the loafing shed. It will be a week before they pour a concrete pad for the add-on, and probably another week after before framing would start... we will see ...

Wife was pulling weeds in a flower bed today and almost got a snake bite. She saw it and jerked her hand back as it was striking. Don’t know what kind. She said it was coiled. She said she screamed and took off running.

What’s weird is yesterday I had a dream that a snake came after me, I woke up kicking. Lol.

I think my ZT does 10 mph. I have never mowed that fast with tractor, but I bottom out the ZT stick running full speed in the field where it’s flat.

No more progress on shed demolition... son had to work on his Jeep. It has been sitting for about 3 months without being started. When he did, the fuel rail was spewing gas everywhere! All the injector o-rings went bad. The replacements were delivered yesterday, so that was his agenda for today.

The other son cleaned up the mess in the shop, about an inch of sawdust covering about half of the shop, from all his notching the posts yesterday. Then he set / leveled all the forms for concrete For the shed add-on. He had to dig out some areas of some rock hard dirt to get them level. All is ready for the pour.

I was able to cut the rafters and purlins for the side porch roof and get them all stained. Ready to go for tomorrow’s agenda.... installing all of them.
Might turn out to be nice... not being bombarded by questions every 10 minutes.... I can work at my pace... slow and steady...

Neighbor stopped over, asked if I could come check the driveshaft for his mower. We had to cut it for his other tractor, and he was not sure if it was too short for this one. Nope... good to go. He asked for me to go ‘ give it a try ‘ to make sure all was good. Sure was... did a great job on about an acre...

Italian dinner was fantastic... even better, there will be leftovers tomorrow.
