Today is my moms 97th birthday and I can’t go see her, that kind of brings home the ancillary problems this virus is causing. She doesn’t have long and I haven’t seen her on a month. I can FaceTime her sometimes and I’ll try that today. But it kind of bums me out.

Bears are scarce on the Eastern Shore/Delmarva Peninsula, so sightings can be years apart. I was raised on the edge of the Dismal Swamp in NC, bears are plentiful there.

I was going to mow grass but it is wet and cold right now.

42F and sunny at the moment, high only predicted to reach 46F for the day ... so below normal temps.

Grocery order appears to have come in at only 2/3rds of the amount that was showing in the cart when I placed it ... so either a lot of discounts applied, or they were out of a lot of items ... most likely a combination of the two.

Placed my next grocery order for Sunday at Walmart.

FIL having surgery soon today to remove the infected shunt that drains fluid off his brain. Risky surgery but more risky to leave it. Was able to see him using FaceTime via the nurse.

CV numbers are starting to flatten out. Daily numbers new cases have been decreasing. None in my zip code, 442 in county.

Roy, sorry your back pain is back. I rode the zero for a while yesterday...never noticed any back aggravation, although I'm sometimes stiff getting off.

My Zero-Turn (a Deere 920) doesn't have a suspension seat and my lawn is moderately bumpy...not normally too bad, but when my back acts up...it can be pretty rough.

Stayed rather overcast yesterday and I mowed a bit, but rather soggy. I think I need adjust my slip clutch on the RM. More of same today perhaps.

From the gorgeous pics of views, birds, wild life etc we sure are a blessed group.

Roy - hope your back feels better. Mine can get pretty painful sometimes, so know the feeling
Redid a small flagstone area around the garage the other day- bug rains and a slight mud slide, not some of the stones are covered with dirt again. Will need to make a run off depression in front of that area, can't be too deep as sometimes I need to use it to get the tractor back there.

One of my brothers-in-law (wife's brother, in other words) has his wife in a really nice nursing home in Virginia with an advanced case of Alzheimers. I think he's been going to see her every day, but we got an email from him today and he can no longer get in to see her. And of course, I've been going to see my 90 year old former next door neighbor at least once a week and cannot do that now.
