Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 5:00AM. Rain ending this morning. Becoming mostly sunny this afternoon. High 67F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

Do little lambs really eat ivy, Eric? Looks like you'd have a hard time keeping up with them...

I saw something on the news last night about a pink moon this month, but I've forgotten why they called it pink. It wasn't for the color though, but doesn't seem like anybody told your moon that.

Nice job on the check valves, Ron. Do they keep the top and side links from leaking down, letting the TPH droop?

Be nice if we used Imperial gallons here, Bill, but only if the price of gasoline stayed the same.

Lots of lupins popping up in the meadows here, and up near the cul-de-sac, several beds of wild iris, too. Looks like sunshine's on the list for at least the next ten days, so maybe I can get some more photos of them and the several other flowers in bloom.

2020-04-06BurnPile.jpg
Had a burn pile I didn't get to from last year, and with the rain over the weekend, it was time yesterday to take care of it. Pulled a small tarp off of it and it lit right off, enough so the hot air from it was shaking the leaves on trees 40' away, so it got a drink from the garden hose to calm it down a time or two. As I sat there watching, I noticed quite a few dead manazanita trees around, most toward the lake I could see through their branches. So I started pecking away at them with the 4in1 on the FEL, knocking 'em over, pushing out the root ball, and dragging them into the fire. Toward the end, they got so big I had to get a chain saw to knock 'em down to size, and by evening, I had a little view window to the lake and about three dozen less manzanita trees. Some of the trunks were big enough to save as firewood for the stove, but it was a small pile. Really hard wood; rings like a bell when two pieces bounce off each other. Anyway, that's all I got done yesterday, so digging is still on my todo list.

One last pallet of concrete bags to pickup at HD this morning, and a grocery run, and another stop to pick up a big tap for a neighbor, then hopefully get the form moved and the rebar laid for another pour tomorrow. Solar contractor wants to schedule installation, but I had to tell him I won't be ready for another two or three weeks.

Sounds like it's raining pretty good outside now; sure hope it stops before I get to Costco...

I only have the check valve on toplink. Yes it does stop cylinder from drifting while I am using an attachment. I have 3 different valves on my tractor. 2 of them are routed to front and rear of tractor. For some reason when I use one of them they let links drift. Third valve only goes to rear of tractor. It does not have any drift while using an attachment. I use that valve for side link.

Nice fire. Aren't those manzanita's supposed to be a super high BTU firewood?

I read that the Pink Moon name comes from Indians naming it for the moss pink flowers blooming in early spring.

Good morning! 68˚F heading to the upper 80s partly cloudy, South wind. Today is store day so taking spray alcohol and the now REQUIRED or as they say "strongly encouraged" mask. I have several mask so once I get back I can let it sit for 3-7 days before I have to use it again.

Did not fall through the ceiling Ron, I was too traumatized after about halfway through my haircut my wife said this isn't looking right and left.:eek::eek:

Our Town is staying at 10 cases and the county is adding only 5-7 a day, (not doubling every 3 days). We are up to 81 county wide now. Another person has died that brings us up to 3. 14 have been admitted to an ICU. People in Rural areas on the virus thread only think they have it better. Do they know if their closest hospital has an ICU? A lot of Rural hospitals do not. Kyle and Rick LaGrange hospital does not.

45 going up to 64. Made my rock pile bigger yesterday. Skidded some small fallen trees out of the border area with my neighbor.
Maybe venture out to do some hiking off property as the brambles are starting to grow out and get clingy.
Stay safe - Fuel run was completed and it's strange with everyone using masks/gloves.

Yes, on both counts.

The Camp Fire took out about ten chords of manzanita I had bucked. The pile was 6' wide, 6' tall, and about 40' long. The layer of ash left behind was less than an inch thick, so it's also very clean burning wood.
