Good morning!!!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 40° with light rain. Heading to 47° with off and on rain. Painting is done. I picked up all the outside yard decorations yesterday while painting was being done. Then came in house and helped painter put house back together.
Hard to find a young person that has the skills this young man has. No tape was used for all the edges. Wish him the best with his company. Cannot say enough about Sherwin-Williams paints. They matched 20 year old paint job so that you cannot tell where old and new start. The painters skill has something to do with this. Ceiling primer and paint in one also worked very well.

Color of the leaves are taking on a orange tint. By the end of day orange was even more prominent. But was to tired to walk out to road and take another picture.

Jay, map shows I may get some snow. Hoping rain moves east before temperature drops Friday morning.

Eric, mushrooms that need a chainsaw? I usually just give them a kick with my boot. I think you have your chips mixed up.

Roy, good luck with startup. I did a couple of those over the years. Machines I worked on usually started up with no problems. But there was a lot of other machines that took days to get running.

Rich, not much on .pdf documents. Sure wish I had that skill at times when I did troubleshooting. I was a toolmaker that became a field tech. Because other people doing job couldn't do it. Good information in gives good information out.

Hawkeye, glad you have choices. My retirement was started because of manager above me had no clue how to manage the people below. I did work at the same company for 40 years.

Buckeye, good to here your health is slowly improving. I have 2 Credit Unions. Both my wife and my name on them. I called one of them about removing my wife name from account. They it cannot be done. Have to close that account and open a new one. Because wife opened that account 30 years ago. This is the account where my SS and pension money is deposited. They claim that all will be OK. Because they will just transfer the money to the new account. Yah, OK. I will just leave my wife's name on the account. :confused3:

Prayers and best wishes to all.

Good Morning All.

Good morning! 43˚ƒ and cloudy intermittent rain, staying in the 40s all day with our first freeze predicted for tomorrow morning. A real winter day for us. Nothing outside today. Hitting the neighborhood gym later and ordering a refrigerator.
The Costco special starts today and the price is $1000 off their regular price which is about $500 less than Home depot's sales price, plus for $99 I extended the warranty to 5 years and use the costco credit card to buy it to extend the warranty another 2 years after that for a total of 7 years - What a deal!!

Wife was right about relocating for space utilization.
of course she was right David... ;)

Two of my closest friends own Ridgelines and if you aren't doing contractor work and throwing heavy cruddy stuff in back
I think it's the best engineered product out there. It's not a truck. It's a SUV with a bed in the back, like an Avalanche, which I wish
they would bring back. It rides more like a firm car than a truck, is very quiet and comfortable. Both my friends bought the basic model with no tech,
so I can't comment on that. With all the deer around here, I'm glad both my truck and car are equipped with all kinds of forward facing radar.
So the autostop safety part is good to have. Lane keeping? in Hawaii? No. It's for big highways. If you can get auto stop, a pedestrian/deer detector, without all the
add on AI stuff, including adaptive cruise. If you won't ever use it, I'd suggest don't buy it, just breaks out of warranty...
So maybe a middle model, if you value comfort and quiet more than towing capacity.
It's the one I considered carefully trying to see if I could get by with just one vehicle. Not until I leave this farm, the bed of my pickup has hay and dirt and is in desperate need of a clean out. A Ridgeline has all kinds of cool fold out cubbies to store things, a real Swiss Army Knife.

Speaking of cars, I saw, for the first time, an ad for a Genesis sedan, that won car of the year, the fancier version with the big motor built on
TXDon's basic car, which is quite an honor. And in the ad it spoke of true Korean interior style. They finally stood up for themselves and stopped trying to copy
the Japanese. True Korean style. Now I'd have to think about that a little...as I think most of you would do. And i don't mean North Korea, that's a sad la la land.
But South Korea makes all our washing machines it seems, our tires, a whole lot of things.
So now we need to be aware of Korean style.

Ron great pics. You're fixing up lots of stuff, hope you are having some fun with it.
I mowed a bunch of leaves yesterday, think it rained a little overnight, cloudy day today with rain tomorrow night.
First I have to get the rv back to the dealer early tomorrow morning to have them look at the on again off again nav system.
My backup Garmin is due in today, will have that working no matter what. About 2.5 hours each way. I need to calculate gallons per hour, would help me estimate
fuel stops better. Fuel gauge doesn't seem linear, but thankfully usually has more in there than I think. 26 gallons, 15mpg, more range than I want in a day, which is good.
Pretty much have to fill up each day, though I have several two hour drive days planned where I can wait until the second day. Rig computer
calculated range over 500 miles. I don't believe that one little bit. More like 300-350. I don't like a low tank.

off to go foodshopping, mow some more leaves, might pick some peppers, and then get rv ready. First time backing it out of shed, rather do that in day time
than early tomorrow morning.

BEF, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday with your wife. Glad things are improving.

Was gonna do some mower maintenance and string trimming yesterday but went hiking and then hunting instead...had to take advantage of pleasant temps and beautiful colors in the woods.

Wish I could go on a hike, weather has been great. I was telling my wife yesterday that you hike in SNP. Much of our dating was hiking there.

Good Morning!!!! 49F @ 5:15AM. Plentiful sunshine. High around 70F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.

Sounds like you have your priorities straight, Wng!

Good luck with the new fridge, Don.

Sounds like you're the new Paul Bunyan of mushroom jacks, Eric. Photos, please.:D

I think the power's still off; PG&E said they'ed start restoring last night with foot patrols doing line inspections, but that won't fly in this area. So maybe sometime today. It's odd that we're still under Red Flag Warnings and it's still windy, and they're turning the power back on. Not that I'm complaining, but what they're doing makes no sense.:confused2: In the mean time, the generator keeps buzzing right along. Sure would be nice to have a wireless remote start on it, though.

Got an email from the ex-mechanic yesterday, threatening me with a certified demand letter if I don't pay him what he thinks he has coming. I have a list as long as my arm of defects in his work I'll be sending back today, with my own threat to take him to small claims for the $15K limit.

What day is it? It's hUMp Day!

Have a good 'un, folks!

39°F and light rain this morning. going up to 43° today. Rain will likely end as snow overnight, but it's been too warm so far for any accumulation.

Got the new bridge mounted on the guitar last night. It's much better quality than the cheap stock Chinese-made part. Broke a string while tuning it up, and found I have no replacements in that gauge, so I'll have to stop at Guitar Center on the way home tonight.

I am, in fact, feeling a bit better today, Buppies. Thanks for asking. The cough is still there, but getting better. I actually got a little sleep last night.

Don’t forget to pull the plug.

You can mark stuff on pdf, but I sure want CAD to draw.

I haven’t used my autocad since I designed our church building. I’m probably rusty on it now.

Maybe Eric ate some mushrooms and thought he needed a chainsaw?

You can have all the mushy peas.

Rain tonight and tomorrow, 100% chance. Thunderstorms tomorrow.

PT is tomorrow and Friday. I’m still sore from yesterday’s trip. Was really hurting last night.

Should look at why back gutter over runs with rain. But I shouldn’t climb ladders.

Have a good day

I’m sore from all the walking yesterday, hospital and then grandsons ballgame. Doesn’t seem like much when you are healthy, but I can feel it.
Getting back to normal is a process, as BEF can tell you. But it beats the alternative.
We are still looking at tractors, RVs and pick up trucks. I’m having trouble pulling the trigger on that stuff until my surgery and prognosis are in.

70°F and 1.51 inches rain.

Back out to tractorshed, troubleshoot auxiliary fuel line and install, get started on clean up.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

took the rv downtown and filled it up for 2.83 road diesel. It's a side entrance to shopping center right close to main intersection in town, where coming out I cut straight across four lane and then make a quick right. I was patient and lumbered across without any issues.

Am still surprised how much pep that unit has. You have to have a gentle foot because the rattling behind one's head
from bottles and things whacking into each other quickly give you feedback you are exceeding the g limit.
And for sure I usually do drive gently, I call it chauffeur mode, trying to get good mileage without being a burden in traffic.
No burden at all...

Duked it out with a gleaming white F150 next to me, another retiree geezer like me, and we both put our foot into it for just a little bit.
And I tell you without my nose growing longer than I kept up with him until his turbos kicked in and he whooshed right by me with a smile. All under 35mph...
11k gvw and 350 torque, but thanks to low gearing at bottom feels a lot stronger. Doesn't particularly sound good though, not a knocking, just an angry
vacuum cleaner sort of noise. Not sure I can do much about that...though a layer of sound insulation on the floor in the front would go a long way to cutting down the noise.
Lot of wind noise due to front overhang, never going to be quiet. Not without my headphones.

need to finish a little mowing and then will have the day free.

was sitting in local greasy spoon down the road yesterday morning, on way home and hungry from no breakfast.
Place was almost empty except for three state police, all easily announced by their black hemi chargers out front.
They were about done, I was waiting on mine, and their food slips were all scotched taped to table as normal.
I mosey over a few feet, said excuse me, and starting picking up their tabs saying they deserved a break today.
Which after checking me to out to make sure I wasn't dangerous...:D they smiled and all said thanks. They were the locals, little investment
in good will here, though there's a bunch more of them. Due to county seat, courthouse and jail all being downtown, lot of police cars around.
Not an area to speed in but then none of the locals speed at the high end either. Haven't seen any Dukes of Hazzard stuff here in five years.
