What size is your genny? Compared to your AC's needs?

The generator's rated at 6.5kW peak, 5.5 kW continuous. I don't have the manuals for the A/C, so I really don't know what it's rated at. I've been able to run the A/C off the generator in the past, but when it came on (by mistake) yesterday morning, it killed the motor on the genny, maybe because it was operating in economy mode and couldn't react fast enough to the load. The generator has a meter that can be set to display kVA, so next time I've got it hooked up I'll take some measurements. Should probably do that for the other major appliances while I'm at it, as once I go over to solar, I'll need to be more careful about when and how I use the electricity. Most of the stuff here is less than ten years old, but the furnace/A/C is twenty-two years old. Might be time for an upgrade.

Hope you find a nice place for your daughter, Kyle. That's gotta be a tough one.:(

finished mowing the lawn, four hours later in 90 degree heat, lots of dust, yuk.
Can't wait to take shower, waiting for cleaning ladies to leave.

good news at endocrinologist, they want to just watch and see, I'm not that high and
fairly normal for someone with half a thyroid. Two docs at ECU teaching hospital in Greenville, very thorough and good,
nice doctors visit.

made a fresh pot of coffee, never made one this morning, went to local greasy spoon this morning, needed to meet the guy who invited me on the
tractor parade this Saturday. Had to tell him sorry, cost of insurance over 500 bucks to insure my tractor off premises. I asked insurance agent don't they have a parade end't and apparently not. Agent said 99 percent of his clients would never have asked the question, but then laughed and said I was sure his only client
who had actually taught insurance. He's got a main street insurance agency, just as I did in my small PA town. What's really weird about this agency, and I suppose good, is that there is not one piece of paper showing anywhere in the office. No stacks of files, maybe this is new privacy SOP but it looked strange to see an insurance office
without paper files everywhere, stacks of renewals to be worked on. Obviously safer and more private to keep them all locked up.

Now if I were a real farmer and had a Farmowners policy and not a normal homeowners, I'd be covered.
Just remember, you only are covered if you are using your tractor for "maintenance of the premises" and the premises had better be
listed on the policy.

You might be on the small size for a central AC. Maybe get a small window unit for bedroom?
Daughter is not going anywhere. Just getting her setup with social security so that when she is old enough, there won't be any wait.

I'll be installing a 22 kW whole house propane fired generator with the solar panels. That ought'a do it.

The cooling trend starting tomorrow doesn't look like it's going away anytime soon, either. That means I can just leave the A/C off.

Back in house. Decided to install wiring in car for trailer lights. Got it done. Seemed like I had to take half the car to get done. One less item on the todo list.

I bet you did a nice job with it too vs the general populace who are then plagued with winky and non functioning lights ever after.
There should be a law that an indicator bulb, at least, goes off, telling you have a signal light out. Most folks have no idea.
You pulling a one ton utility trailer Ron?

Headed to 100F again today. Hottest September on record.

Don, they are now a bit uncertain about the Oct 4th cool front reaching down here and how low the temps might be. I've been meaning to ask if you like the UV film you put in the Stinger? Can you tell a difference when you are driving into the sun?

98F here. I love the film on every window and windshield on the Stinger. It is much cooler. The car was sitting in the sun for 30 minutes today, it has a black interior, and I did not feel the need to open the windows when I got in. The black dash was in full sunlight and was very warm to the touch but not burning hot like my other vehicles. I also squint less in the bright sunlight.
