73F already upper 90's for high,toss and turn most of the night.

Bear was no show last night.
Outside early get couple things done before temp starts climbing.
Plans for today...store for critter food,gas for pickup,replace rider mower bumper with new home made one,install bear bars on door...subject to change due to temp.

Good morning! 78˚F heading to 98˚F.
Saturday is tractor day with people running around tending their gardens in the Horticulture center. My leader in the machines SIG (Special Interest Group) of the Horticulture Club slipped in the shower and broke a few ribs so he will be out for a month. I'm learning a lot from him he used to be the head maintenance person for the machines in the Texas chapter of the Red Cross.

Hopefully soon we will be able to be hospital Free in the The Good Morning SIG.

Ron I hope they can figure out cause of Betty's pain. Tell her we are pulling for her in Texas. Prayers sent.

BEF as that GBS moves around and affects you hands still try to keep in touch, maybe with a ghost writer. It will eventually reverse direction, it is a strange and scary disease but you are one tough hombre. Stay calm and focused as it takes it's course and you will be back on the tractor soon.

Drew, my Mom's pears are getting larger also but the coons are taking care of them. She wants me to set traps, but since I can't check them every day I am not, the coons can just get fat.
I used to make a lot of pear pies and take them to work. They were a hit.
Just peel the pears, slice them, boil them till soft add cinnamon and sugar and use them in a pie just like you would use apples. (coat them with lemon juice right after you peel and slice them so they won't turn brown)

The sky is turing brighter orange, time to walk the dog before the sun peaks over the trees.

75 outside this AM. Heading to 100. Yesterday I broke out the mower and did anything that was in the way. LOL. This AM it will be the weed whacker.

RNG, I was at Rural King the other day. Had to check out their line of tractors that they had on display. They have a Yanmar motor in them. They are made by TYM. RK Tractor lineup. If you were to see what you like. The closest store is Near St Louis, MO. :tractor:

Bird is being sensible, must have good lights for mower

Yep, pretty good headlights on that EGO walk behind, self-propelled mower. So I got the yard all mowed and watered yesterday.

But then I had a pretty miserable night last night, aches and pains, primarily in most of my torso, and a severe case of diarrhea; went to bed early (before 6 p.m.) but up an untold number of times; finally gave up and got up to stay up about 3:30 a.m.. I'm wondering if it was a side effect of the Shingrex vaccination about 10:30 a.m. yesterday. I can't think of any other reason for it. Anyway, I just ate a big breakfast and am feeling better now.

And this afternoon, we have to go to Ft. Worth to a restaurant where our younger daughter is having a "baby shower" party, expecting her first grandchild which will be our first great grandchild.

78 going to 100...and dry...no rain for over a week...this time of year is rough on the plants.

Had to make 3 gallons of hummingbird food yesterday. The other birds are having a pool party in the birdbath, splashing most of the water out. That's how they are staying cool.

The way the news folks are acting, you would think this is the first time we have ever hit 100. It happens every summer here.

Sorry to hear about Betty, Ron. Hope she's back to normal quickly.

BEF, I'm not sure there is a posse left in Virginia, so prayers sent instead. ERs are necessary, but not a good place to be.

Bird, was that the first shingrex shot or the second? We've had the first (no side effects that I recall) but are due the second in a few months.

Good morning. It's 75°F and 98% humidity this morning. We're expecting to see 96°F this afternoon with a heat index similar to the surface of the sun.

Long term forecast shows some possible rain next week and a nice reduction of daily highs.

We finally joined the Robot Vacuum Nation this week. Amazon offered the Roomba 690 (wi-fi enabled) for $199 on Prime Day so we pulled the trigger. It even had one day Prime delivery. The packaging was interesting. It was in a box, inside a box, inside a third box. I unpacked it and, following the Quick Start Guide, got it started charging while I set it up on the WiFi network, iPhone and iPad which was very quick and easy. When I got back to the house, late Wednesday afternoon, I used my iPad to tell it to "Clean". So far, it seems to work well and has only gotten stuck twice.

I need to do some more trimming with the weed eater this morning then ...... more mowing.

BEF ..... hope the docs figure out what's going on and get this resolved.

Ron .... ditto for your Mrs.

Drew .... don't over do it in this heat.

Mr. Bird ..... good luck in getting over your aches and pains. Wife and I had no side effects from our Shingrex vaccinations. We've now had both shots.

Good morning! 73 now, supposed to get to 93. And brilliant me is going to a race. Cooling towel, cooler of water, and fan will go with me. Rider bought a new generator this week....so having a fan will help.

Took a day off yesterday and got a lot done. Tilled the garden, mowed, built a frame for roof vent in the trailer, grilled t-bones for dinner that were excellent. Busy day. I know the shower last night felt great.

Thoughts to everyone who is ailing. Hope you heal quickly.
