68 right now...high today in the lower 80's and a pretty god probability of thunderstorms.
I'm going to see if I need to mow today. Did quite a bit of trimming a couple days back...probably no trimming necessary...but thinking about it, I do reload the trimmer head with string.

Good morning everyone 80 deg and rain heading in for the afternoon.
Don plant based diet is good but here in the Northeast where the growing season is short fresh veggies are not the best year round. All summer I'm a happy guy but come October the prices are high and quality really drops.
Drew did you ever try "Wipe New" for the cover on the truck. I have an Avalanche and bed cover was turning faded black/gray and nothing lastest more than a few months, tried the Wipe New and it lasted almost 2 years and still looks good. Only place that it didn't last is on the running boards by the vehicle doors from stepping in and out.
Did take that Ford for a ride yesterday around the neighborhood. Smoked like heck clearing out the marvel oil. Good news is that after all the years it was parked PTO and Ferguson 3PT work.
Congratulations and best wishes for Randy Toppop.
Stay safe and cherish your families everyone IMG_20190705_161012916.jpeg

Don, it seems to becoming widely accepted that eating more plants is a good thing for everyone. Could it be that the real benefit when people like yourself go on a totally plant based diet is not so much the absence of meat, but more the fact that it almost forces you to now consume much more fibre than before, with a wider variety of fruit and vegetables ?

Nice thought but no, just adding a ton of vegetables will not undo the damage animal product cause. It's all about inflammation.
"The high bacteria load in raw or cooked animal foods and fermented foods may trigger an endotoxemic surge of inflammation, which may be exacerbated by the presence of saturated animal fat."
Dead Meat Bacteria Endotoxemia | NutritionFacts.org

Some people respond quicker to the inflammation like my brother and me and some respond slower like Bird and my Mom, but sooner or later you if you survive half the population will be faced with a slow debilitating disease or surgery that temporarily fixes the most serious obstruction to your blood flow. The cure is so simple, been known for 60 years but rattles the Human to their core - a restricted diet.

Good morning! A hot one today with lots of sun and little wind. Temp range 76-96.
To the gardens today for seats time and to fix flats on the community carts.

After getting flail back together and mounted on new LS XR4140h, did get one area mowed.perhaps my most challenging due to various slopes.

Right now, area is fairly dry and real challenge will be when wet.

So far, really liking the new tractor, but the R1痴 are a rougher ride, especially on the concrete, but even on the grass. Still hoping I値l adjust.

Haven稚 forgotten Alaska pics guys, just not gone there yet.

That side shift looks awesome.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 5:15AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 96F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Good to read that most all of you had a pleasant Independence Day. The midweek holiday made it seem like having three weekends only two days apart!:confused2:

That new LS is a great consolation prize for finishing your vacation, David. Hope it works hard for you! Keep us updated on how you make out with the R1s, OK? I haven't been impressed with the traction with the R4s on the hills here, and will very likely have R1s on the new tractor.

Don't loose that magic screwdriver, Dab. Who knows where else it might come in handy!

It's taken months, but my relationship with BofA has dwindled to a savings account and a credit card I haven't used for a long time. I plan to cancel the card, but have been unable to find a way of doing it on their web site. They also have the only safe deposit boxes able to hold a legal size document without folding, so I'm stuck with them for that.

I have yet to get much use at all from the iPad Pro I purchased at the end of 2016, but at least Apple continues to support it with OS and security updates. I would have been much better off with an Air, which uses the full MacOS. The iPad always felt really dumbed down from a laptop, and the finger pointing interface much too inaccurate to work easily.:2cents:

Hope the hawk learned its lesson, Ron. The baby turkeys out here are about half grown now, and the hens I've seen are having trouble keeping them in line due to their curiosity about anything and everything.

Heard that Jim Beam lost one of its barrel aging warehouses to fire a few days ago, and the runoff polluted a local river. What a tragedy! Hope it doesn't cause a spike in JB prices; my usual 1.75L bottle is almost dry.

Hope Randy & Ellen have a wonderful wedding day...

Very nice mid week break visiting friends for the holiday. Good rides both down and back, and a guided tour on Wednesday of one of the nicer sections of Highway 1, and another state highway that winds its way through giant redwoods. Got my first lesson piloting a ski boat on Thursday (fun but kinda boring), and ate way too much the whole time.

Got in a nice nap yesterday after I got home, then studied up on tractors some more, mostly big green ones. It will be interesting to compare features between JD and LS. It also seems as though neither one offers a hydro transmission in their larger utility tractors, and with all the shuttle work I have planned, that's a show stopper.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.:drink:

77 outside this AM.

In recovery mode, wife went with daughter over holiday and came home with another new truck.

In recovery mode...lol.

Have tractor work today, but need gatorade and fuel before I start.

Hope all have a pleasant day. Be safe.

78 degrees going for 95 today with a 20% chance of rain this afternoon. I had the experts trim a tree in the front yard and remove one dead one and one live one from the back yard this past week. When they were working, I noticed they were raising a lot of dust. So yesterday, I ran the sprinklers to water the yard, then this morning I got an early start at mowing; got done by 8 a.m. And I was wringing wet from the heat. At least I can start early with the EGO battery powered mower, and with the bagger, no dust.

Meat or Veggies I just read an interesting article on the subject. It was written with information from the USDA human nutrition research center on aging, nutrition science and Purdue University and other sources that say as we age for bone health, maintain muscle mass and strength and other physiological function as we age should have more protein, 1 to 1.2 grams per kilo gram (2.2 pounds) of body weight that's 25 to 50%above RDA. Powdered or liquid supplements just don't cut it and veggies don't contain enough protein per serving. Looks like meat is still the best option.
