I know that a few of you have the Harbor freight propane torch. It's on a recall.

I was pretty excited about this because the igniter on mine quit sometime last year.

Until I read the recall notice and saw:
"IF YOUR PROPANE TORCH HAS A NUMBER STAMPED INTO THE
HANDLE AND THE LETTERS IGI STAMPED INTO THE BRASS, IT IS NOT
PART OF THE RECALL AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE RETURNED. "

You guessed it, mine has both numbers and IGI...:censored::pullinghair::banghead:

If any of you are in the same boat, I ended up purchasing one of those really strong magnets and stuck it to the top of the propane bottle that powers the torch. Then I put a metal weldor's striker on the magnet. Handy, but not as handy as just pushing the piezo button.

I didn't see any sense in spending an extra $10 for the igniter since they all seem to fail. Like you, I just use a welding striker to light it.

Good evening all. 73F this morning, mostly cloudy, moderate wind. Wind was gusty again today, sky was partly to mostly cloudy, and high temp was 84F. Cleaning lady prep to start, then bike ride, then putter nap, and off to stepdaughter's for dinner.
Jay there are news sources who will mislead to increase the sensationalism. Just wish the reporter would learn to do research. Take the burmuda triangle, people can research original sources or research the folk lore, guess which makes the "better" story.
Ted good luck with your gravel and sorry you are having internet issues!
Over 900 DUIs is a lot!!
prayers for all.

The only other piezo igniters I have are on old Coleman propane stove and lantern. 100% reliable over all these years, the thought that other versions would not be never even occurred to me. It just slipped my mind that HF still makes and sells crap, and I guess the weed burner is just another example. Made it past the warranty, though, though that's not much consolation.

40 °F and going to a high of 68. Wind SW 8 mph. Mostly sunny.

I started 'something' the other day (4 days ago) when I cut the grass. Then we had all that rain. Now the grass needs cutting again.

Other than cutting the grass, I got a screen window to fix.

Have a good day all
