Hello everyone, I've been lurking on here for quite some time. Been over researching the heck out of tractors and have come to the conclusion that a Kioti is what I'm looking for. I'm just not exactly sure the size I would need. Ive convinced myself that at least 40 hp is needed but would like some opinions. I purchased a 6 months ago 60 acres in Western Kentucky with a 50/50 pasture/timber mix and variable terrain with some steep grades in the timber area. The property has been untouched (aside from hay) for some time and needs a lot of work. There are lots of felled tree's, some really thick brush, long gravel drive (700-800 ft), pasture maintenance (30 acres), fence built, a narrow gravel road approx 900 ft that needs to be built for access to the back pasture (the land was divide before I got to it and the previous owners sold off the access road to my 20 acre pasture), just lots of work.
Im looking at open station setups, HST and would really like the fender mounted loader control (I have a bad right shoulder from my running around in other countries days of the Army) and holding it out for the loader mounted control during heavy use could be problematic.
So thats what I'm trying to bring up to par and would like some input. Im looking more at used than new but will buy new if the right used tractor just doesn't come along.
