Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Has anybody purchased one of the Daytona floor jacks, specifically the professional yellow colored one? How long have you had it? It's been compared to the Snap-on, and Snap-on sued HF, but lose the suit.
Any other Daytona floor jack owners? The 4 ton?

I have the orange 3 ton 24" max lift, had it about a year..... love it long time.

I have a couple of very many years old 2 ton floor jacks that still work fine. I haven't found a compelling reason yet to buy a new one, though the old age of my two is becoming a concern. I'm just not sure which of the several HF variations to go with. Heaviest vehicle is a 4,500 pound passenger car and I only lift one corner at a time. Thinking I need something more stable (wider foot print) for the SCUT though.

My Hein-Werner 1976 vintage 1-1/2 ton WS jack is freshly rebuilt, but like you I feel I need a stronger one for the C30 small dump truck. The HW will lift it, but I don't think it likes to. I do have the cheapie HF Pittsburgh 3 ton which I bought with a coupon for $69. It has worked fine, but doesn't go up very high. Several people have said they like the Daytona brand, and have no issues with them so far. The new HW 2 ton is $300 plus shipping, and their 3 ton is about $500 I think. Thanks for the replys.

I have had a couple of the old orange 3 ton jacks, the one at my house is about 15 years old and works just fine, was at one of their sales where the open box stuff is half off on Sunday and got one of the newer grey versions (the high lift not low profile) ones for $40 for when I build my new shop. I've used the old orange one for everything, lifted up I think the whole back end of my crew cab long bed F350 diesel when I lowered it 2" (had a 4" lift, now a 2") and probably one corner at a time in the front... but I'm just occasional use...

I have an older steel one, a good 15 years old and it's ready for the scrap metal bin. I don't use it often as I have a car lift in my garage. The pump only works on the lower half of the stroke. You would think it's low on fluid but it has no problem reaching max height. It just does nothing for the first half to 2/3 of the stoke of the handle. It makes for very slow jacking. I have a Craftsman one that is still working fine from that same era. My guess is rust got to it. I think that the HF jacks are as good as any other non commercial brand out there.

You have Kubota's? I have a POS Mitsubishi 2650 and as soon as it gets out of the shop it's going up for sale and I'm planning on replacing it with a Kubota. Any pointers about what you like and don't like on the Kubota? TIA...

I am kind of in the market for a 1/2" torque wrench. A you tube video tested the Icon (HF) brand against Snap On. A fraction of the price and the Icon was better in accuracy and repeatibility. Plus, the case had metal hinges and hasps.

Arizonacowboy, welcome to the forum! This is a thread on Harbor Freight tools that don't suck, so your question about Kubota likes/dislikes would get more play in the Kubota sub-forum, or in the general forum on buying-pricing: http://https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/buying-pricing-comparisons/

BTW, I notice from your location that you've got a good selection of tractor brands near you. Hard to go wrong with Kubota, for sure, but also take a look at the South Korean-made Kiotis, among others.

I'm surprised. My $9.95 HF torque wrench has always tested identical to two torsion-bar wrenches I compare it against, a couple of times per project. (Trust but verify. It's from HF after all! :))

That accuracy is 'good enough for the girls I go with', to quote an old Carpenter buddy.
