Good morning!!!!

Drinking first cup of coffee. 24° with wind and streaks of lake effect snow this morning. Heading to 26° with continued wind and snow. Take wife to another Dr appointment this morning. Back to shop in afternoon to continue projects that may take rest of winter to complete.

Police report for fatal accident stated. 29 yr old female was driving to fast on slushy roads. Got out of tire tracks from previous drivers and lost control. Please slow down when conditions are not best for driving.

Thomas, a day off. Enjoy.

Check, prayers and wishes for a fast recovery.

Don, I have a 1970's Snapper lawn mower that I will donate. Will have sharpened blade, oil change and fresh gas. Has never used grass catcher. When will you be picking it up. :D

Drew, qualified help is hard to come by in just about any field. Hope they get it done right this time.

RNG, get some sleep.

Good Morning All.

Mild, dry weather for us all day yesterday and coming up again today and tomorrow. That weather is not as interesting as what some of you are experiencing, but for me boring winter is the best.

Our tv showed people snowboarding down the streets in Seattle, where they said deep snow is quite rare. If it's too cold for rain, does that make it Sleetless in Seattle ?:)

Sometime this spring I have a long section of boundary fence to replace, where it runs parallel to a public brideway. A public footpath crosses the fence line, with a wooden style to let people climb over the wire. The style is starting to rot, so I was thinking of replacing it at the same time. I had heard that the county council are encouraging landowners to use galvanised steel kissing gates instead and would a make a contribution towards them (they cost over 」400). Just rang them and got through to a nice young man who says he will bring me one - for free, as long as I put it in :dance1:

Don, thanks for the Valentine reminder, I have my reservation at a local Italian place she likes.

Drew, I was in business for 37+ years, the last 20 good help was near impossible.

39-45 today, I hope the rain is over, property is a giant sponge, creek is out of the woods into my main back meadow. I would call it a pasture but I’m not grazing anything back there.

Prayers for you folks.

not if it comes with that pig. It is a pig?
too low for deer...
what do they call the round things you enter a building through that revolve like turnstiles?
Glass with the rubber wiper edges that go whump whump whump
As a kid going to the big city, Philadelphia, I knew I was someplace pretty cool when I went in one of those.
Got yelled at for going around and around in it...:D

update: revolving doors, duh.

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:15AM. Rain likely, heavy at times in the morning. High 48F. Winds ESE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 2 to 3 inches of rain expected. Locally heavier rainfall possible.

Still too much noise to sleep, and it's even louder now. That yellow/orange blob on the radar map has reached here, and the wind is blowing harder to keep up with the deluge. Gonna be a soggy walk around the property with the solar power expert, who's supposed to show up here at 10AM. Hope he brings his rain gear!

When I got up to the gate yesterday morning, instead of just swapping out the antenna, I ended up spending more time on the phone with Mighty Mule. The gate was dead to the world, and had blown a fuse. And as soon as I replaced the fuse, it blew again. At first I thought it was because I hadn't readjusted the mounting bracket and the motor was straining too much at the end of the closing stroke, but it turned out that one of the wires from the vehicle detection loop was shorting to ground. The Mighty Mule rep led me through a set of diagnosis steps to find it, for which I was grateful. He also avoided having to send yet another gate arm out. Everything seemed to be in order when I finished up; fingers crossed it stays that way this time.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

Good morning to all! Low of 24 going up to 52. Wind going to start up again, this time only gusts to 40. High chances of rain / snow tomorrow and Friday. High elevations (9,000+) could get up to 2 feet. Thankfully we're below those elevations (7,000).

Scheduled to be a pin cushion again this morning at PT. seems to be making everything worse so far, going to have a discussion about this before we proceed today.

Drew, hopefully the rain will just be light and you can plant next week. Remember...all good things come to those who wait...

Our news have reports of all the snow / ice in the midwest and NE.... You guys be careful whether walking or driving.

Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent

Oh, forgot the pics of the LB last night.... Turned out really good, a little more done than expected, but can adjust for next time. Flavors were amazing!

Drew, I remember getting in trouble in the revolving doors at the 'downtown' Wanamaker's in Philly. I learned my lesson by the time I was dragged over to Strawbridge and Clothier! They had them too!

Sorry Ron we only pic up through neighborhood 86 at this time. However there are some nice winter garden homes available in neighborhood 26. Just bring it down and we will pick it up from your front door. I'll let you have my Garden Club tractor seat time in the winter - 50˚F is too cold for me.

It was 27° when I got up this morning. Yesterday was in the low 30's mostly sunny with the wind 10-15 mph. Today is going to be in 30's with a 50% chance of snow showers with the wind 15-20 mph. Looks like a better chance of snow tomorrow afternoon.

Made a trip to town yesterday to have the truck worked on. It end up being the battery's and the alternator. Changed out the battery's, still need to get the alternator changed out. I had to come home and find the receipt for alternator it's only two year's old.

Hope to get that done today. Just have to move the wife's car to get it inside to work on it. And another trip to town and back.

Hope everyone has a good hump day.
CWB.

34°F, sunny, with a frost on grass and pastures. Forecast is for 67°F this afternoon. No rain in forecast for a few days so we'll hopefully start drying out a bit.

My plan today WAS a trip to Costco, in Katy, to take advantage of the 48" LED replacement tubes that Ron advised us on. It's 70 miles one way so, I checked Costco web site this morning to see if the site can confirm stock in the Katy Store. Now ..... those replacement tubes don't show up on Costco site, in 12 pack or 4 pack, for any price? PRODUCT NOT FOUND. Oh well.

Now I have to see what to fill those three hours, over and back, with?

I'm curious, to those who've purchased these retrofit tubes, whether you just installed the replacement tubes or actually disconnected the existing ballasts? It seems to me, that just plugging in the tubes would get you the LED benefit of Fast on but ..... if you don't disconnect / remove the exiting ballast, you not getting the energy reduction benefit?

Happy "Hump Day" to everyone! I'm glad Geico brought back their HD commercial.

Prayers to all.

According to my daughter, who was a commercial lighting manager for 15 years, there are stand alone like you and I have, replacement tubes that require wiring around the ballast and plug and play units that leave the ballast in place.
