We had like issue with my MIL, but the daughters sorta ganged up on her, not letting her win.
Realistically, wife and I could become the troublesome old folks. We designed this house with our dotage in mind. Our son stands to inherit anyway so we hope when the time comes he will be retired and ready for a change. Life’s challenges.

Drew, some of the drone pics I’ve posted lately were taken by my cottage tenant. He got a DJI Spark for his birthday. Less expensive than mine but much more advanced, smaller, transportable (folds). He loves it.

If you can be very specific I'll ask the dog trainer. When and what is the puppy biting - you, strangers, furniture? It just may be that the puppy needs more chew toys.

Thank goodness, no furniture. He basically wants to chew our fingers / hands. He has plenty of chew toys, even when he is playing with a toy, he will suddenly release and jump to our hands. Those razor teeth slice instantly. He will then get a firm "NO", stopping him for about 10 seconds, then back to the same again. He is 'teething', a couple of loose baby teeth in the front. We don't want it to become a habit though.

The only other thing that he does when he goes outside is he trys to eat everything that he can grab...mulch, grass, plants, etc... He is scolded when he does, but just goes to the next piece he can find. He was born / raised in an outside kennel until he was rescued by us at 9 weeks. I'm sure that has contributed to this behavior.

I'm sure we have forgotten about all these little things that go with puppy raising, but we don't want any bad habits to continue.

LS, im with you on Hating Wind.

All my grandparents lived and died at home, except a grandmother who died in hospital, but lived with us her last few months. My dad cared for my mom until she passed at home. I feel that taking care of your parents to be an obligation, not a burden.

Ted, my Wife usually suggests yelping like a hurt litter mate when they bite, then turn your back on them. They'll wonder what they did to offend you, but get the message after a couple of times. Lets them know they're playing too hard.

The SYMA X1 was my introduction to quadcopters. I must of had a dozen in total; all modified; a couple carried miniature video cams that I mounted. I still have one that is operational and I have three still in the surrounding woods. They are one robust, modifiable 3 axis quad.

When we finally really need our nursing home style bathroom on the second floor we will probably be unable to get there w/o a stairlift. I see another bathroom renovation in ur futures.

David, those tips are exactly what we are doing. We are both here with him, someone always 'supervising'. If for some reason he has to be left alone, he has a crate, and it is acceptable to him. He has been what I would call "an excellent puppy", except for the hand biting and outside 'foraging'. Housebreaking is going as expected. He has not made a BM in the house. Only a few other 'accidents' , usually because we weren't paying attention to his signs / signals of impending actions.

I /we have great patience, just looking to see if we are forgetting something. Thanks for the tips.
