RNG I hope their price is better than what Morton gave me to finish the inside of my pole barn 30 by 40nand add a lean to 12 by 30. More than what they charges for the original building costs

have to go through a year's worth of bills to throw out the junk and keep what is needed, been working on tax paperwork this morning, good thing to do on a rainy day. Plus my desk was a mess and now I can find things.

I need more coffee for this...bet the stuff Billy is drinking tastes a lot better than mine. Particularly with mine being half decaf...though nothing seems to affect or change the tinnitus so I think I'm going back to high test.
I use a level teaspoon of splenda half and half, meaning half regular white sugar, a combo I have found to be exceptionally sweet for the least amount of product. I put that in a big mug, almost two cups by itself, a little two percent milk, and I'm a happy man.
I think if I drank better coffee I could cut out the sugar. That would be much healthier for me.

Buppies, hope this storm isn't making your arm hurt.

Drew .... have you ever tried Stevia? I switched a couple of years ago.

21°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 31° today, then dropping down to 7° tonight. That's chilly. Was greeted by Venus and Jupiter side-by-side when I walked out the door this morning.

Wife always has some movie playing as background noise while she sews. Last night it was The Green Mile. I ended up hanging out in her sewing room watching it, and got a whole lot of nothing done. Great movie, though.

My Wife is like that, too, Rich. Over the years, even before we were married, I've bought her a chain saw, a compound sliding mitre saw, a 20ga shotgun, a DeWalt cordless drill, etc., etc. She likes these gifts much more than fu-fu stuff. She's a very practical woman, and prefers practical gifts. However, we are starting to get to that point where it's hard to find something we need and don't yet have.
I'm currently trying to convince her that she needs a stainless lever action .357 carbine with 20" bbl. :D

Sorry about your tractor dealer challenges, Drew. I completely understand, as I have similar challenges with my Kia dealer's service department. They either don't listen, or are too lazy to follow through. One of my long-running complaints has been my bright lights flickering when the turn signal cancels. They always told me they couldn't find it. Now, there's a recall for that very thing. Guess someone found it. Still waiting for the "recall" for the dash rattle I've been telling them about (which they also can't seem to find) since it was about three months old. They've actually made that worse. One guy recently suggested it would be very expensive to tear all that out and look for a rattle now that the warranty is expired. I reminded him that I've been telling them about this since the first service, and am not expecting to pay a single penny to fix a problem that has existed since it was nearly new and the warranty was in place.

First World problems, I suppose. :confused3:

Nice picture, David.

txdon; anywhere is better than hanging around during a hen party.

More snow coming my way. I better get off my butt and get to the plowing.

29°F her this morning with a heavy frost on our pastures. Forecast says 61°F for this afternoon. Looks to be a sunny day.

We had just under 1 1/2" of rain in gauges yesterday morning so more tractors parked time. Our ground is completely saturated.

No wind here Don? Kyle must have left his fan on, pointed at you?

I have a stack of boxes, in the quarters in our barn / shop that came from my office when I retired. Decided to start going thru the boxes to see if I still needed / want to keep, all the stuff I thought I wanted when I retired. About half of the boxes I went thru yesterday are now either in trash, on the recycle pile, or the "to be donated" pile.

I hope to finish that up today then, load recyclables in the truck for a trip to our Richmond house early Friday morning. Richmond has a good recycle program while, here in the frontier .... not so much.

Sorry to hear about your family issues Rip.

RNG ... glad you finally found your Vanagon water leak problem.

Hope everyone has an excellent day.

Prayers to all.

Can anyone suggest a beginner camera drone I can buy to take pictures like David has? That is just way cool to see your home from above.

Google has a pretty good one, if you can wait for the updates. Lol Screenshot_2019-01-24-09-57-24.jpeg

Good morning to all! Low of 23F, only going up to 36F. Clear sunny skies, but wind supposed to kick back up. 20mph with gusts to 40 mph....did I say before that I hate wind? No precip on the horizon until next Tuesday.

We did some of the errands yesterday and it kicked my butt....didn't seem like much, and only about 4 hours, but really just drained my energy. We have to go to the grocery store today (took it off the list from yesterday). Maybe won't result in the same outcome today.

RIP, sorry to hear about your FIL. I can tell you, both of us will be the type who refuse to "burden" other family members until the absolute necessity. Hard to change a way of life especially if you have been very independent. Prayers out to you and the wifey.

Drew, sorry to hear that the dealer didn't take care of the tractor as you requested. Seems like this type of situation has become the 'norm' , just sad. The pics of the greenhouse are awsome. The wifey said: "that's exactly what I would like"------I think I know what I will be building this spring.

David and Don....any quick tips for raising a puppy? Specifically not biting. It's been 12 years since our last exposure to puppydom... We must have forgotten....Holy cow ! does he have energy! Maybe that's why I don't have any?

Hope everyone is able to stay safe, warm, and dry. Hopefully those dealing with injuries and other issues will be able to find some resolution. Prayers sent.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

A rainy day today. Today's low was 35ºF; presently 48ºF. The driveway is an ice skating rink. I need to call the plow guy for a decent sanding after the rain tomorrow. No way I am going outside any time soon.

David- Awesome drone shot of your beautiful place. Thanks for sharing. I have no drone pictures of this place only videos. No way I can come close to the quality of a Phantom or similar quality drone's pics and vids with my homebuilt. I will post that I got "close" in quality with all the modifications that I made over time. That was part of the fun; I needed to create a spreadsheet for all the changes that I made and the results.

Like many of you over the years the anniversary gifts changed from neat stuff that I liked, to stuff wifey liked to to practical stuff and now just a quiet dinner for two at a decent restaurant. We have everything that we really need and never had a need to advertise our good fortunes. Wifey likes to go on vacations. We actually were planning to go to the Cayman Islands in February. We canceled which proved somewhat costly even with the travel insurance.,

".... Buppies, if your wifey is happy, then we are all happy for her. Hope you get better yourself." Kyle. Nicely posted and I agree.

Buppies- Good luck with the arm.

Drew- I am sorry to read about lack of follow through by the Massey dealership; especially the HST shake. That top link cylinder is huge. I wish that I could recommend a decent learning curve (i.e. robust) pic/video drone, but the market is so fluid with all the developing technologies that everything that I would recommend is dated. One crashes a lot in the beginning which can get expensive. And trusting a powerful flight controller that flies itself can result in an expensive crash or worse fly-a-way. If you find a drone that is interesting; I would enjoy researching it out. DJI does come to mind. David has a DJI product (if I remember correctly), I have a DJI product. The Mavic is a DJI product. RNG is right. One needs a cheap I.e. expendable learning drone that can be easily replaced or repaired which requires part availability.

Mike- I am sorry to read about your FIL. I had a similar injury; it was a long and painful rehab and I was in my early 40's when that injury occurred. It will be a long haul for your FIL. Special +thoughts, wishes, and prayers. Your SIL is a hero. Entitlement seems to be an age related process.:(

"... Hard to get elderly people/parents to change their lifestyle. It usually takes some kind of life changing illness or injury to make the change. I guess I am in that group. But not ready to make any changes YET."- RonJH Well posted. :(

Don- We have no children. Your points are valid too. It seems that many times retirement/aging in place plans are replaced by knee-jerk reactions to a life changing event and unfortunately result in a unplanned placement in a longterm care facility

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers
