I have related my experience before. Some of the chargers that don't boil the battery don't fully charge them either. OK if you are not charging a deep cycle battery for some chore.

As long as you dont cook the battery. ive see non trickle chargers boil off the fluids in a battery.

I hear ya grs !

Baccus Global is the manufacturer, they OE for a lot of brands. I'll meter it later to verify, but it is claimed to be fully automatic. Other users have commented, and I've observed a relay clicking once it green-lights the full charge...... I suspect they are disconnecting the output driver, while monitoring the battery voltage.

I don't deliberately leave chargers in the rain, but I've grown to like how well sealed up these modern chargers are, while still delivering respectable output for home use.

I was looking for a water-resistant charger, at 3+amps.

Not a lot of bells/whistles, but 6amps, IP67, delivered to my door for $51 Canadian.... Sold.

Robot Check

BLACK+DECKER BC6BDW , in case that link acts up.

I've got this charging a spare Grp 65 battery that is sitting on my work bench in the garage.

In the Green Light (full) mode, the output relay clicks on at approx. 13.48 volts, then off at a displayed 13.6x volts.

Probably a bit of overshoot happening (low bandwidth DMM) but that's about what I expected...... nothing harmful going on, esp. on a night like this.......

JK, but I could probably pulse-charge most batteries with an arc-welder tonight :cold:, and they'd just say "Thank You" for the heat !

Those poor batteries need an electric blankie tonight. Just out to get wood. Wind just howling through the woodshed at minus 35C!

Mild temp is probably one reason my BX battery has lasted to long... rarely dips below 50 or over 85... exceptions of course.
