Good morning!!!!

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:00AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. Becoming windy for the afternoon. High near 50F. Winds SSE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Picked up an inch of gentle rain yesterday, but it looks like the wind'll be rockin'n'rollin' this evening when the main part of the storm comes through. Worried about weakened trees taking out the power, but that late in the day I'll just hit the sack.

Too bad the tractor comes with an inconsiderate tender, or not tender, Don. I'm sure it will appreciate your fettling, but how long will it be before you get tired of cleaning up his messes?

Enjoyed reading the car stories, gang. I really like my R100RT too, PJ; it's a marvelous bad weather machine that relishes putting on the miles. Handles pretty well on a mountain road, too. I understand Honda put the new Goldwing on a diet this year, making it more BMW like. Maybe in a few years you can pick up a used one for a song?

Went to use the yellow pages yesterday to look for a surveyor and found it dated 2016. Guess they stopped delivering phone books. Went online to yp.com and found a few names, but a google search turned up even more. Another American icon bites the dust. Called just about every name I came across that was in the area, but only managed to get one quote. It was half the best price I got several years ago, and was in response to a txt message I sent after I got tired of people not being able to understand me due to the poor cell reception here. Google and txt messages replacing phones and phone books, who'd a thought that would happen?

Also ordered a laser level to help with laying out the pad for the new shop and other grading I'll take on this year. And today I think I'll send a txt message to the local Butler Building rep and see if they respond. I'd like to meet someone in town for a face-to-face and see if they can build what I'm hoping for without costing a king's ransom.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

If I can fix this, bail might get waived.
Harvey are you looking, any suggestions on how to bend this straight so the door will stop sticking?

Don, I remember that Pinto, we looked that up before. California Dreamin'... those were the days of browns and golds and greens,
and you had a refrigerator in Harvest Gold. Perhaps not civilizations' best effort.

Don't forget shag carpet and 8-track tapes, Drew. The first house I bought, a fixer-upper, had green shag everywhere, and cat whiz in the corners.:laughing: Never had an 8-track, cassettes were the way to go back then...

I'm not Harvey, but I'd be tempted to find out the make of the door and buy a new track. Then take the tractor keys away from whoever ran into the door to bend the old one.

My first thought also was someone ran into the door but I can't find any evidence. The door weighs about 400 pounds and can only slide off one end. Hopefully it can be fixed by sliding both doors to the other side of the rail.

The expectations of a clean tractor are not very high so there is no pressure on keeping it clean but If I do I would be considered a better qualified TD.

as a less intelligent source but if I might add:
crowbar, if you can see what you are doing, soak it all in some lube and final lube with spray white grease. Slip sliding away.
Personally like RNG I'd replace it but that means an official work order, site impact assessment, preliminary approval for
board review, at least six color images supplied, and then the Board Review.
Board member picks up crowbar and says I can fix this. He then goes out and dents the outer rail while
bending the inner track so far the roller falls through the hole and the whole door crashes down on one side,
smashing into his boot. While he limps away one amused bystanders sniggering
enrages the would be door hero and heaves the door back up into the dented slide
and jams it into the end part where it stays.

Of course the next poor person will confronted with a
improvised device worthy of James Bond. In seven out of ten tests the door will smash into the foot of the user and
therefore prevent entry. Faced with that evidence the Board approves replacing the entire door with one controlled by a remote
control. The Board being all male knew in their hearts that you always need a remote control.

I would also replace the track. Hard to believe that door weighs 400 lbs. is it steel reinforced. Use tractor to lift it.

I owned the R75/7 for 32 years and really like the airheads. I rode a 92 R100GS for a couple of years, after the 99 K12LT. I was looking for a nice R100RT when I happened on the R1150RT-P CHiP bike that I ride now.

Good morning to all! Low hovering right at 33F, a couple of light passing sprinkles. High going up to near 45F, becoming partly cloudy, but wind gusts up to 40mph +. Next bigger storm storm expected to bring snow late Thursday night into Friday, not sure of amounts yet.

HAPPY BELATED ANNIVERSARY TO MR AND MRS BUPPIES!

Wow, 42 years, congratulations! Wishing you many more.

Drew, yes, the contemplation of just getting a new snowblower occurred, but the financial budget doesn't have it in the cards. There are some " grey brands" that are about $450, but I'm concerned about future parts if needed (they are probably like washing machines...all the same parts). New "name brands" anywhere from $700-1000. Not sure if they are made that much better. All parts are still available for my 20 + y/o one, repair parts this time would be just under $100. Might have to go that way for at least the rest of this season.

Started the oral steroids yesterday, the first day was a heavy dose of 6 tablets. Made me queasy, even with food. Today is only 5 tabs. Maybe a little better with this dose. I would almost rather have pain than be nauseated. Haven't noticed any reduction in the swelling this morning after the first dose....

Everyone have a great day! It's hump day! Prayers sent.
