What mess? Where?

SR

Lets see....

Cut & stack in the woods. Loose stuff falls off no more mess.
Split & stack in truck loose stuff falls off , no more mess.
Pitch it off the truck into the wood shed, loose stuff falls off, no more mess.
Stack in wood shed, loose stuff falls off, no more mess.
Stack in trailer to go up to the house, loose stuff falls off, no more mess.
From trailer to wood rack in the basement, why do I STILL have a mess??????????

Perhaps you are more picky than we are?? lol

Any bark ect. that's outside of the window, the lawn mower takes care of that and any on the basement floor, ends up in the garden, usually after it goes through the woodstove...

It ALL makes heat, so in it goes...

I do the same thing. I keep half a cord in the outside stairwell and about 100 pieces inside the basement right next to the stair door. Anytime I can see the bottom of the pile, I just push any dirt or bark into the stove ash scoop and toss it in the fire to burn. It all goes out every month to the garden.

Does anyone use a lubricant on your wood stove door latch? If so, what do you use? Mine has a hook that slides under a roller and it is getting stiff. I was going to try graphite unless there is something better.
Have the same problem. Going to try ceramic brake grease.

Had 14” of extremely heavy snow a few weeks ago, which took down two 12 & 16” Birches and a bunch of small Hemlocks.

Bucked the Birch and hauled it out for splitting tomorrow. 15yo son at the controls.

Today's adventure... Maple finally came down, can't figure out why? 😋 It was blocking the trail, so today seemed like as good a day as any...IMG_20181225_133305.jpgIMG_20181225_133358.jpgIMG_20181225_140319.jpgIMG_20181225_140439.jpgIMG_20181225_141333.jpg

THat looks like a nice set-up, Loasderman22. Did you make that logging arch or buy it?

Bought it from Northern. I'm sure it's not the best version out there, but at the price, it's fine. Could use a better winch, but I do like the nylon strap, very durable with no stretch. Not technically a "tractor" & wood, but maybe you guys can let it slide?

I've seen some beautifully designed logging arches from Logrite, but they are a whole lot more expensive.

As far as not technically a tractor -- it gets the job done.
