As you can see, the front of our L6060 is pretty open to damage, even with the factory grill guard. Anyone know of an after market inserts you can put in this grid guard to protect from sticks puncturing the front? I could wrap it in chickwire or something I know, but it would be nice if something was already made to fit these. Thanks in advance. I know someone has some up with a good idea.

Chicken wire would be of little to no protection. As many members have done, get some heavy gauge expanded metal, shape it to your guard and weld it in. If you don't weld I'm sure you can find a local welder or a friend who can do it for you.

I know you want something ready made, but a quick and dirty solution is to cut a piece of expanded metal the width of the brush guard and twice as long as the brush guard is high. Fold the expanded metal in half and slip it over the top rail of the brush guard and pull the ends at the bottom together with bolts. This is also easy and cheap to replace when necessary.

There are no ready made bolt on solutions available. You have to add expanded metal your self or have a metal fabrication shop do it for you.

I did my own.

Expanded sheet or perforated sheet are readily available for DIY. Or if you know any fabricators, you can get 1/8" sheet CNC any style/shape you wish.

I chose the latter......

That looks really nice. I like how you folded it into the inside of the frame. Pretty clean looking. Lots of good ideas here guys. Thanks.

Be sure and do it "before" you take out your radiator/grill/battery;I was lucky ,missed the radiator.

Great solution for non-welders. Very clever!!!
