37 and going to a high of 48F. Wind ENE 16 gusting 22 mph. Periods of rain or drizzle. It is raining now. The 2" of snow we got the other day is gone. Yesterdays forecast for today was sunny.
The daytime temps for the next week are forecast to be in the high 30s to mid 40s.
Overnight lows in the mid 20s to high 30s. We shall see.

I'll do the local month end shopping in town today. Tomorrow will be the North Bay trip.

I will get some Liquid Plumber today and see if I can loosen up the stoppage in the kitchen drain. The P trap is not the culprit, the plug is between the P trap for the kitchen sink and the shower. The township criteria is way different now than it was in the '50s/60s for a dry well. I can't put one in so I will have to either get the sink flowing again or replace the pipe. My problem with replacing the pipe is that it runs along the underside of the main floor and I can't raise my arms over my head comfortably for very long while standing on a stool/ladder.
I don't have a problem paying a plumber to do the work, IF I can get one to come here and do it. So far, no joy.

Fall is just about done with. The tamaracks have gone from green to golden yellow and leaning towards red. Soon they will drop their needles. The good thing with tamaracks and pines is I don't have any leaves to rake. The bad thing is because they are so fine they get into everything.

We moved here in 1994 and so far have not had one halloween kid. Life is good.

Have a good day all

Bill, do the needles get in your gutters?
Even with gutter guards down at the barn it's a constant job for me due to overhanging pines.

trying to figure out how to dress like a cow.
All white or all black, white mask. Maybe I'll find an old long sleeve white shirt and put my hands
inside white athletic socks. Think I have a pair of white pants gathering dust somewhere, good use for them.
Last time I worn them was for a dress review cruise by in my tiny yacht club I briefly was a member of in South Florida.
All white outfit, lots of starch, when everyone wanted to get back into a/c..., but you got your picture taken and I have it on the wall somewhere.
The Bertram was done traditionally with multicolored pennants going from flybridge to anchor, and I always had an extra large US flag on the rear/aft. And when I was done, the pants got cleaned and back in the closet. Waiting for today.
perhaps being reincarnated as a cow's rear...:D

42 going to 72, a delightful day on tap.

Made a nice list of things to do, which I will never get through today.

I washed windows and trim for 5 honest hours Monday, and noticed a few places that could use some caulk work, so I may take the ladders out later. I also have one more group of windows left, so may go after those. Sometimes I think we live in a glass house.

Get well Roy!

Happy Halloween!

I can't imagine 122 fuel pumps. Must be constant flow of delivery tankers.

I have no idea what size their underground fuel tanks are, but I noticed them before they were buried and don't think I've ever seen a bigger one.

If you look at the reasons the roman empire fell, and you look at world events today, it gets scary. Influx of invaders, over taxation, over expansion, failing infrastructure, political infighting, division of power, lack of central leadership, political corruption, mass migration and loss of traditional values.
The eastern empire maintained a good while after the west fell, but eventually fell also.

Of course I'm so old that I agree with you. But I also remember the "old" folks saying about the same thing when I was a teenager.

No need to get candy out for trick or treating. Not one visit in over 40 years.

NWS is forecasting a high today of 61, but says it's now 62 at 6:30 a.m. They are also still saying we have a 90% chance of rain this evening, so we don't expect to have the usual trick or treaters this year, so we'll just leave the porch lights off.

Good morning! 70˚ cold front hitting with rain and thunderstorms at 6pm. This weather will put a damper on the trick-or-treaters.

I asked my neighbors a month ago if we get kids from other neighborhoods trick-or-treating and they said no, not really. All the kids I see are usually during the summer or weekends and are grandchildren. We have a "Next-door" neighborhood website that includes the neighborhoods around Sun City. There is a map page that you can specify if you are giving out candy. In the neighborhood to the west there are about 100 and in all our 80 neighborhoods, which comprise of Sun City, there is 1. So no candy here.

Our Dyson Vacuum cleaner "bit the dust" yesterday. The last time it broke it was under warranty but we had to drive to Georgetown (1.5 hours) to get it fixed. So when it broke this time I was glad we lived in Georgetown. I called the Vacuum cleaner repair place and they said they do not have the part (a switch) and they just sent out their order and will not be ordering for another two weeks. I ordered it from amazon and it will be here in a less than a week. The brick and mortar business need to keep up their inventory if they want to stay in business. I would have gladly paid double to get the switch yesterday.

We have been wanting a stick battery vac for a while to get under beds and furniture so with the big vac broke we went to best buy and got a Dyson stick. Best Buy was $120 more than Costco but they honored Costco's price. Now that's customer service.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy. High 78F. Winds NNW at 5 to 10 mph.

We've been under a Red Flag Warning since Sunday night due to very low humidity and gusting winds. Supposed to expire today, but the winds are still blowing. Noticed pine needles all over the driveway yesterday, so I better take a peek in the gutters and see if they need some attention. One 500 acre grass fire start south of here, but forward progress was stopped quickly. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

This place is too rural for trick'or'treaters, and the gate at the end of the flag lot easement keeps solicitors at bay as well. :D

The van mechanic has been blaming a bad ignition switch for all the electrical ills, so yesterday I replaced it. Oddly, the ills persist.:confused2: I've disconnected the coolant low level audible alarm, but the LED on the dash still flashes. Found where a capacitor that's part of the temperature gauge can go bad and cause the problem, so have some on order. Sure miss Radio Shack for stuff like that. Finished up the day reconnecting the backup lights to the switch on the transaxle that activates them. The Bently manual had the color and the stripe reversed for the wire colors, and the "fix" didn't work until I also replaced the fuse for that circuit. That's what happens when someone leaves cut wires flopping around under the car.:muttering: More wire tracing on the agenda for today.

Happy Hump Day folks!
