52F now upper 50's for high.

Between rain and wind yesterday leaves pile up on the ground...lots leaf blowing action this weekend.
Rain was ground soaker for hardly any small stream brook show notice.
E muffin feed little critter slow roll to work.

Enjoy the day all.

Roy and family still thinking on doing leaf peeping north looks to be the last weekend.

Buppies you shouldn't have dry water this winter w/all the rain you gotten...thank goodness it wasn't snow.

52 to 67 and breezy. Haven't been down to the rain gauge, but expect a lot.

Not going to the mountains as planned due to the floods and 55 mph winds predicted.

L4N, sorry your tires were wrong. You took it well.

Eric, yesterday it looked like the remaining storm from Hurricane Michael was heading for you...now it looks like Brittany or further south in France.

The Richmond Folk Festival starts tonight...out favorite event of the year.

I certainly will not jump up and down waving my arms and swearing at them. That would just make me look like an A-hole, get my blood pressure up and still not get the tires on. Better to just roll with the punches. Besides that, it is not going to snow for another month. No big panic.
Even if it was forecast for a foot of snow tomorrow, it wouldn't stay. I've driven on summer tires in the snow before. If I could do it then, I can do it now.

sun is up and other than a birdfeeder and my US flag out in the middle of the lawn, looks like nothing out of place. All good. Beautiful sunny cool morning.

Hard to believe someone as tech savvy as you hasn't already got an OBD reader. We know you like a challenge, so guess you are worried it could make fault finding far too easy :D

I do have an OBD code reader, Eric. It was purchased when I had the 5 series BMW car. It was a USB unit I tried to use with a MacBook, and it never quite worked right. That and all the wires involved made it a real PITA to use. But the real problem with it is all it gave were the error codes, and no other info. BMW is very tight lipped about what those codes mean, especially their own proprietary codes, so unless you have some kind of inside line to that info, they're pretty useless. That system cost upwards of $200 IIRC, so the very modest prices of the modern phone based systems, along with their wireless nature, have me less gun shy. But Subaru also uses a hefty assortment of proprietary codes, and not all the readers can access them. And from what I've been able to find on the readers, their capabilities are not at all stated clearly. Not surprising, as most of them seem to come from Asian sources, and there is a language barrier involved.:confused2:

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 4:45AM. Sunny. High 82F. Winds N at 5 to 10 mph.

You did the right thing there, Bill, in spite of never seeing that wasted two hours again. Better luck next time, and maybe you'll get a better deal on the tires?

That's a lot of rain, Buppies. Hopefully it'll dry out for you for the weekend?

Well, as expected, no bumper delivery yesterday. Not even a text message, email, or phone call to tell me they weren't coming. Trying very hard to take a page out of Bill's book, but incompentence at this level is very difficult for me to deal with.:muttering:

One bright spot that wasn't is that the new SSD for the 17" laptop came, but it did nothing to resusitate the old girl. So that leaves something in the disc control hardware, which is integrated into the mother board, and those are not easy or inexpensive to come by. So I'm also going to look at prices for another used 17" MacBook Pro, but the last time they made 'em was 2011 and I'm a little leary that they might have the same issue.

I was able to find a spot for the new horns on the old motorcycle, which turn out to the the same horns I installed on the Vanagon. In fact I took the ones I used yesterday off the Vanagon to use for sizing, but they look so nice on the bike I decided to leave them on. Had to fabricate a couple of brackets to mount 'em, always challenging working with stainless steel sheet seeing as there's no finger break or shear hear, and the tolerances were pretty tight for both placement and the anti-rotation tabs needed to keep things in place. It took most of the day, but I got 'er done, and it was good to have something to keep me occupied while waiting out the bummer bumper situation.

The old bike also has a relay that the previous owner routed around, and in a spare moment yesterday the original wiring diagram informed me that it used to control the headlight. I'll see today if I can restore that functionality, as it's hard on the handlebar switches to have that much current going through them. Also need to wire up the horns, which will also use a relay, a new one I've already got a mount for under the side cover with the fuse panel.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Good Morning All.

I feel for you, Ron. I'm on my 4th cup and know what it's like to have to skip the coffee entirely. 57 degrees this morning going for a high of 67 (which is great) but with a 90% chance of rain (which ain't so great since we've had so much rain lately).
