RK 24 With 54" RK by Top Dog Granite Grapple

Here is a video lifting and carrying some red oak logs with the RK 24 and the 54" grapple, I was blown away by what this little tractor will lift and carry. It handled it just fine but I probably won't lift and carry that much on a regular basis with a tractor this size. Word is this will be available in January, I am part of the testing program which is why I already have one.

Great Video, I have a saw palmetto project just waiting for the grapple. It will put it through the test.

Really enjoyed the video. I've got a 55 and I'm dying to get the 72" grapple for it. I've got a lot of woods and hills and several old logging trails that need to be cleaned up. The 55 will be great for that, but the RK24 with a grapple would be awesome for some of the smaller areas! I'm thinking it would be nice to have a little brother for those harder to reach and smaller areas. Time to start a new savings account!

Has anyone gotten a price yet for this grapple on a pre- quick-attach FEL? Sorta curious what has to be purchased to make it work. Grapple+quick attach adapter+3rd hydraulic valve+? Maybe RK will have a "special" price for those of us that bought the RK24 before they started shipping with the quick attach.? :yes:

That would be awesome if Rural King made some kind of allowance for those of us who bought tractors before the new features were added as standard. I was perusing their web site and as it is right now, you'd have to buy a new FEL ($2299), then the grapple ($1999), I'm assuming the 3rd function remote ($749) and install ($225). Adds up pretty quick. $5272! Then what about your old FEL? Any kind of trade in value on that? I suppose you'd have to talk to the managers to see what they could do.

I'm thinking very seriously about getting the grapple for my 55, but if I had to buy a new FEL quick attach to do it, that might push it out of my price point.

Sorta the same way I'm looking at it for pricing. Might require selling my RK24 and buying something else if I really needed the quick attach and grapple. I'll be able to see, touch, and test what I am buying. When I bought my 24 I asked about a thumb for the backhoe and a grapple for the FEL and was told it wasn't possible. "Not enough hydraulic pressure" to add them. Not blaming RK, my fault for buying before I shopped around and asked more questions. I should have waited until the RK24s were on the lot and were a known and tested product.

I read somewhere around this forum that someone traded in their tractor. It may be that they could give you a cheaper option by trading in what you have for one with the quick attach and backhoe with a thumb, idk.

Amazing little machine. I do wish there were an RK dealer around us in CO, but we are mainly orange and green.
