I have my eye on a wooden indian head in the booth next to mine. Some of the multiple booths are multiple neighborhood booths so I figure there are about 250 households of rare antiques and useful stuff to go through in about an hour. There are golf carts and motorcycles and every thing you can think of. But nothing can go on sale till 8:AM. Goodwill has a huge trailer there so no-one has to take their stuff back home. Lots of downsize and estate stuff in this over 55 community.

Sounds like there could be some good deals on used golf balls. :)

Had a really got morning bushhogging the moringa. Still another section to clean out the fence and knock down

Interesting comments on my drone ordeal, thanks.
Really liked Eric’s tree saw, but dont think i can justify.

Safety is/was my number one concern. One of the reasons it often times takes awhile before i do something. I really like to try and think things thru. Probably a carry over from my Army days and reinforced by having my disabled wife as primary, often only, workmate. Not only was my ladder very stable, but so was the branch i got to perch on. The branch was more stable than the overgrown grassy area around tree which was thick enough i tangled my feet unable to walk. I did have a safety belt and strap handy, but no way i could get it around the tree, the higher branch would have been in the way, and didnt see much value strapping self to same branch. I didnt bring my climbing spikes having ruled that out. What cant be seen in pic is tree is about 5ft from an overgrown pig fence i had to negotiate and 6 ft from a barbed wire cross fence placing the tree in a corner.
We did consider using a 2nd drone, but then I’d have 2 stuck in the tree. ☹️
Sorry Don, no video. Unfortunately i had switched off video to take stills. Wish i had the video.
The property owner did ask i not die on his property. I assured him that would be my last choice.

64 going to 79. Cloudy.

Ed, congrats on that new Ruger...very nice gun.

Don, good luck selling and shopping and hope the rain doesn't come shopping.

Drew, driveway looks better than when you had professionals come do it.

This morning is opening day of bow season, so I'll walk back in the woods for a spell in a little while...mainly to enjoy nature, but I will take my bow :).

Good morning! 76˚ to 87˚and Oh no 50% chance of rain - up from 40% - will see how lucky we are. The cut-off for changing to the rain date (next weekend) was Thursday evening. The extremely large garage sale is set up and there is no delay possible now. Head hunting game is on.

Good morning. My back was a little stiff this morning after a full day of firewood loading and stacking yesterday. A hot shower soon got me moving again. Doubt that would have been so effective at your place Ed, if your government regulated water is coming out at 100F. Wouldn't want anyone to get scalded but that would definitely be on the chilly side for me too.

So I have a question (no, nothing to do with wooden indian heads :)) and that's how early in the day could you eat what you are supposed to be having for dinner, before feeling guilty ? You see my wife is out for the day to meet friends and my rare treat in her absence is a piece of lightly smoked cod. Both me and Max are now counting down the minutes to the next meal :licking:

Wng, for those of us born with that hunting gene, there is no greater thrill than going out prepared for whatever may come our way, yet we are so lucky that with food in plentiful supply, we can still enjoy a nature walk even when we come home empty handed.

Good Morning to all - - and a truly fine morning it is here. FINALLY - rain. Not a very awful lot but steady for the last twelve hours. It was so dry here - you could hear the ground soaking it up and swelling. Never so glad to see rain.

First cup of coffee has been poured. 59° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 80° with 90% chance of rain and thunderstorms. Not to wish anything bad on a hunter. But if we get the thunderstorms as forecast my son will not be able to go hunting this morning. Which means he will arrive much earlier than his planned arrival of noon. Wife want her Kitchen Island completed.

oosik, glad you are getting rain.

Don, Wooden Indian Head. Centerpiece for dining table? :D

Good Morning All.

RNG, almost forgot. Yesterday's problem with mower not starting was after spraying some DeOxit on battery terminals. Lawn mower was slow turning over on some days. Checked voltage. Good at 12.6 volts. In a hurry I just sprayed some DeOxit on the terminals while changing oil earlier this week. Yesterday the indicator lights on dash barely lit. Tried my jump starter. Still no go. Removed both cables and did a through cleaning of post and terminals. Tried starting again. Almost instant start. DeOxit and lead connections must not be a good thing.
I did use Deoxit on the connection on my mail chime transmitter at mailbox. A day later it started working again.

41 degrees in Bethel right now...a far cry from the humid 73 degrees in Muncie (where I'm at). High (in Muncie) is predicted to be around the mid 80's.
Audit prep has gone reasonably well...a hindrance has been two customer visits which has interrupted some of my work...quite a bit, actually.

Plans today...depends on the weather...humid and light rain now and that looks like whole day. I have some work I can do on this laptop, if I get motivated
