Got all 5 acres of lawn and field cut. Got to the 86° forecast temperature while I was out cutting. Glad to be back in house where it is a nice 76°. No AC on yet. But with 90° forecast for Monday. It will not be long before it is needed.

only some consolation the wire cage I mowed was small and dark green, and in the shade...at least it didn't hurt anything
and the blades needed sharpening anyway. While I was at it I chipped away at a little of that caked on grass.

Then I mowed the roadsides after getting out of the tractor either four or five times to pick up trash. Nice having the FEL on, just chuck it in there.
With that done it was hoe hoe hoe time, plus I transplanted about a dozen cantaloupes.
A very nice day outside.

Some years back, one of my brothers used my Kubota to mow what was going to be used to set up a temporary carnival, and he got a tangle of barbed wire about like your picture, daugen. So he got his pliers and cutter and laid down under the mower to cut the wire out. It didn't take him to long to realize he had just laid down in a bed of fire ants.

Drew when you catch a piece of wire cut it off quickly and easy if you use a cutting torch, that is if you have one. Ed

Good evening all. 74F at the start, partly cloudy, calm wind. Mid morning north sky started to look stormy, high temp made it to 87F at 11:30, temp start dropping like a rock shortly after, and low temp was 69F. 1.1 inch rain in about 20 minutes. Bike ride first, finished just as the storm was approaching. Watched it rain, was coming down so hard could not see house behind me. After lunch nap and work consulting. Need to get billing caught up. :ashamed::eek:
L4N 16-18 ft fish and ski boat that I can fish from solo.
Prayers for all.

Good morning all. I'm slowly getting used to wet weather again, though I'm not sure our broadband is. The speed increase didn't go too badly, we can now download at around 9 Mbps, which doesn't quite meet the minimum rate the provider promised but at least it's now possible to stream video. Upload is only 0.3 Mbps, still adequate for my work, except for yesterday when the rain came down heavy for a while and the rate dropped right down just when I wanted to send some large files. Either lots of people choose that moment to upgrade their Windows 10, or the new fancy modem is more susceptible to moisture at some weak point on the line.

That wire tangle looks all too familiar Drew. I recommend trying it again, only this time using barbed wire. When I had my wire coiling adventure last week, it nicely cleaned off in seconds the grass from half the underside of the deck.

PJ, have fun with the plucker. After de-feathering 6 roosters with one of those, I wonder if you will be tempted to turn vegan like Ed - or admiring how smooth the skin is on the back of your hands :)

Looks like rain/storms coming back today for much of the weekend. Should get to upper 80s from current 69.

Hoped to spray gly on 3 food plots the last 2 days, but too windy. May get a window this morning...hate to do it before the 3pm call for rain, but should be enough time.

60 right now...high in the low 80's and showers/T-storms this afternoon.
I finished mowing yesterday (after a doctor's appointment) and I hope to get the weed eating before it rains...of course, weed eating when it's wet is sometimes advantageous as it keeps the dust down. I need to get some diesel and gasoline this morning too.

After the rain starts...just see how things go
