Racing the clock on the storage shed, daughter's moving pod has to be emptied Wednesday. Got the garage door install about half done last night (panels up, need to put horizonal track and springs on now). Lawn should have been mowed several days ago, but storage shed higher on list. Lots going on at work.

Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 8:30AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 71F. Winds NW at 10 to 15 mph.

Don, I thought of your niece with I read this story. Is she still wrangling alligators?

Welcome to Good Morning!!!!, Diwali!

Musk isn't the only one shooting from the stars these days. Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin was in the news, too. Unfortunately the comments from the wisecrackers on Facebook seem more focused on the rocket's resemblance to a certain piece of male anatomy than the amazing technical accomplishment. Sigh.

The coop extension looks planned that way, PJ. A few minutes with a paint brush and not even the chickens will know it's an add on. I wonder, though, how you'll keep varmints from burrowing under the chicken wire. Or do you not have wild dogs and foxes to worry about?

Love to see some pics of that storage shed, Hawkeye. Sounds a lot nicer than a shed!

7200 feet is about a mile and a half, Drew! Hope that new hoe works out well for you. I had to drag the garbage can back to the house yesterday when I walked up to get the mail, and that quarter mile of wrestling with it was more than enough "exercise" for me!:confused2:

k-bikeTrailer.jpg

Well, the fella from U-Ship was three hours late yesterday, arriving just as the sun was setting. He did very well backing his trailer up the crooked driveway, and it was an easy push up his ramp to get the bike loaded. But he has a lot to learn about strapping things down, and I won't be surprised if there's damage when it arrives on the other end. Not my problem anymore, and one of the few motorcycles I've owned I have no regrets passing on to the next caretaker.

Gonna try to wake up the little Yamaha dual sport this morning so I can use it to retreive ice from town over the weekend. This year's Syncrofest outside of Hollister, CA is this weekend, and without the fridge in the Vanagon, I'm probably gonna need at least one ice run to keep my food fresh. I'm also gonna wump up a big batch of salsa and enter the contest; not many people have heard or tasted chipotle chilis and it just might turn out to be a prize winner.:D Thought about taking the Cuisanart with me and making it fresh down there, but the herbs and spices taste much better after it's had a few days to "work"...

And I'll drop by the mechanic this afternoon to see if he's still working on the van; it was supposed to be running last Friday but since I haven't seen any reports of other miracles on the news lately it won't be any surprise if this one didn't happen, either.

Yeah, we have coyotes and foxes, although foxes aren't quite as plentiful around here as coyotes. Wife is planting a variety of vegetation around the coop today that she's read will be somewhat unpleasant to varmints, but mostly to snakes and rodents. Buried at the bottom of the border planting areas is a horizontal sheet of chicken wire to discourage digging. Wild or stray dogs don't usually last longer than a second sighting on someone's property before they are eliminated.

67°F and only .01 inches rain. But not a sunny day at all yesterday.

Friend, Keith, whose 40ft container is temporarily homed on the property cane over and did some weed whacking for Sophie. Also initial trial of his newly acquired 80 volt trimmer. Pretty impressive.
Have to take Kekoa to Vet this afternoon to check out what looks like a hot spot just behind right shoulder.
New tractor seat delivered late yesterday, maybe get installed today.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

"Brogen, I heard Jay was arranging something special for you today. You get to take a long nap and while you're asleep a nice vet person is going to make the world a much friendlier place, just for you. If only the vet could do the same for all male politicians before they got into power ..."- Eric Eric and RNG- I agree about the mandated neutering of all male politicians. It definitely would reduce the number of candidate applicants. Government service would take on a new meaning. If I remember Chinese history correctly, this has been tried before with some degree of success.

Good afternoon everyone. By now the "dirty deed" is done. I do not think that I'll be seeing his "woody" as much anymore. It was a decent "indicator" of his level of excitement/contentment. While he's under they will "clean him up." The bear apparently passed through around 4:00AM leaving no damages. Walk #1 started earlier than the norm. It was 40F and drizzling at the time. Now it is a sunny 60F. I anticipate picking up Brogen lat PM today. He was bigger than the built in floor scale, but his "official" weight = 153. He must be weight conscious; he just needed to keep one foot on terra firma. The vets' examination during surgery has led them to believe his atrophied jaw muscles are due to his MMM auto-immune disorder and not abuse. He never acted like he was abused. Now that makes 3 of us in the family with auto-immune challenges. UPS delivered wifey's brand new cordless stick vacuum. Dog pick up and transport and assembling the vac will be today's projects. And tomorrow the real yard work starts. I think I have an handle on the new insulin dosings.

David- I love the pictures of our grounds. Your wife's and your work and time involved is apparent. I like the T shirt too. Wife and I both snore. An elevated head position does help reduce the snoring and improve the breathing.

Randy- I hope that your recovery from pneumonia continues. It seems to take forever. I hope you get your meds straightened out soon. Good luck. How is Ellen doing?

Bill- Good luck with finding the right mix of THC/CBD. I am taking 3000mg CBD nightly. I use a high THC/high CBD flower product;). It's a well established bronchodilator. I have a physical scheduled for next month. I am curious about the bloodwork results.

Ron- I was never fond of fasting bloodwork. I am convinced that lab techs keep that staff pot of coffee in the reception area is there for sadistic reasons. I hope that there are no surprises with the results and you get the chance to enjoy today.

Newbury- Is the head of your bed(s) elevated?

PJS- Thanks for sharing your home renovation project pictures. Those railroad ties still look to be in decent shape.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.

I hope everyone has a decent day.

JB, Ellen is about asymptomatic at this point.
I’m still weak and tired, but better.

It seems that Brogen and I have the same excitement indicator! LOL

Be cautious if Ellen takes you to the vet...

I believe that Brogen is now 152 pounds with that now empty hanging change purse. He's in pretty decent shape considering his ordeal. No collar nor cone is needed at this point.

Randy- I am glad to read that Ellen is "ok."

Losing the jewels could definitely reduce the "drama."
