well here's the big question, is a green light blinking once per second considered fast or slow?
If slow, all is well. If fast I am in overcharge. Of course they don't spec....\

is once a second fast?

need to contact mfg; now how hard would it have been to spec a bicolor LED that would go red
on overcharge instead of flashing faster?

Check voltage at battery. Maintain voltage should be 13.1. Charge voltage should be 13.6 or higher. Charged battery is 12.7. Discharged is 12.0.

Every year is different, but this seems to be one of the more challenging years to get taps running. Some days the sugar shacks are "steaming" and some days they are not. I have +1' of snow on the ground here and down in the Valley there is no snow at all except where it was piled.

Years ago we sugared for our own personal use. It's hard work. The place that we rented still had "sticky walls" in the kitchen from the previous tenant's "sugaring."

We use ~1 quart of maple syrup/year nowadays. We like the Grade B (Dark) syrup.

Only brought 6 bags of pellets to the house, still had 4 here, being optimistic it will warm up.
Only .1 hr of seat time.
Still chilly out there.

Up to 47 from a low of 21 this morning. A little wind still. I gotta run some errands and get ready to go to dinner later. And grandson痴 basketball game.

When I get home I might have to hunt up a couple of popsicle sticks and the duct tape if Ellen decides to stay tonight!

Blue pill?

Sunny here, nice change from the normal gloom around here. Still colder than I’d like. I have a stopped up shower drain at home, it did not yield to plunging, so I am going to try to use a flexible tube and induce some air pressure to blow it out. I really don’t like the drano or other chemical cleaning stuff.

For shower drain, use a long plastic drain dohicky with the sharp pointy edges that will snag the hair.

Cold is coming here as well for a week. Snow expected.

Someone is coming to look at the Czech walk behind tractor. Looks like I need to clean the carb on the Honda GSV motor though, it quits at low RPMs. I hope the guy buys it, because I need a place to park the Iseki when it gets delivered sometime next week.

Politics has been interesting the past month to say the least...

So far, mafia hasn't been a problem for us. We lock doors religiously and carry guns anyway. Cheap insurance. I don't know why that poor journalist and his fiancee who were killed didn't do likewise.

I was afraid for a bit last year that the "subsidy farmer" who was using my wife's family's land without permission might be a problem, but thankfully it was not-- we explained that is our land, sorry that he spent money clearing brush from it to get subsidies, but there is a duty under the law for farmers to contact owners, so in exchange for this free "legal advice"-- he seemed genuinely unaware that there were private owners on the field where he also had a rental contract from the state-- things were fine. But there are others around here that are much bigger players, who already attacked another local farmer (himself a pretty big farmer), and if we have to get in to conflict with them, the habits we have may pay off. Thanks all to the EU and its direct payment system in agriculture that let's people who get cheap state rental contracts make a fortune mulching grass...

Speaking of guns, tomorrow morning is the first shooting competition of the year at the club. I anticipate a low turnout due to sub-zero temperatures-- maybe, if low enough, I can get in to the top 3. :)

Happy St Paddy’s Day

66°F and no rain.

Perhaps some more mowing after I change my flail belts.

Prayers for all

Be safe
Have a great day

And Happy St. Patrick's Day! Not such a big thing for Slovaks, though at least for the Roman Catholic's its on the calendar. I'm not sure I want to tell my kids about the pinching those not wearing green tradition. They harass each other enough as is!

that's what I thought...the controller has a float setting, like a battery charger so it should reduce to almost nothing. Why mine isn't is a ?
Will read the manual (small and poor...) to see if I missed anything.

Good luck on the weight reduction David. If you've lost it before you know you want to lose it again. I lost 50 pounds about six years ago, went down six inches on my pants. You wind up with a lot of clothes...and hope you never go back to the bigger sizes. I gave mine away...
I measure my progress in belt loops. And I'm now looking for a belt leather punch to add a new hole.
And now we are all a lot smarter about what to eat. How we apply that intelligence, well....

33 going up to mid 60's today with storms coming in this afternoon and tonight.
Plumbers coming early with ditchwitch to dig water line to new garden, thankfully only about a hundred feet. That includes installing an inline 1.5hp sprinkler pump in the crawl space of the house. My first job this morning, which I forgot to do, is to install the big pump on a wood board, and then that I suppose on some concrete blocks. Need to run more than one sprinkler at a time and garden hose pressure was not cutting it at all.

Drew, I wonder if the constant load for the fence is a factor? Battery maybe too small?

My son is turning 8 years old tomorrow! He's a St. Patty's day baby....and he can explain St. Patrick's use of the shamrock leaves to represent the Trinity. We are supposed to fish. Hopefully catch some crappie. Why would someone name one of the best, if not the best tasting fresh water fish crappy??? Anyway, my son makes straight A's, all high 97 and above, and he has 2 teachers that share him. They both love him and shower him with "bonus" points which he can turn in for trinkets. They say he likes to help other kids in his class with their math and reading. We are blessed and I thank the Lord for him as well as all my kids.

Happy birthday to him! Many blessed years!

struggled and struggled to get the LP finish mower on the Kubota by myself, and thank you Kubota
for extendable lower arms (that would be a handy personal option though most women think men
are octopuses any way...;) which made it easier, though I had to hunt down spacers from cat 2 to 1, and
finally got the pto collar to slide on. They should call that collar the Slimonizer.
Thoroughly slimed in grease by then I go to wash my hands and the water is turned off. :irked:
Up to check on the plumbers and they had that whole job done in three hours. Including a trip to Lowes.
I took some pics of the piping for posterity, and this time we put a bigger underground box to protect the valving.

ok, multimeter will be grabbed on next trip out.
If that's a slow blink, it means the battery is on float and the controller/panel are happy.
In other words all good.
But I'll take readings with and without a load if I can.
And preferably without shocking my self again.
I have a great deal of respect for 100 watts now.
No question the fence controller snapped a bit louder while connected to the panel.

David/Sodamo, I was thinking marine deep cycle or AGM.
Next I could put an inverter out there and have some night lights.
Motion activated lights would be good for scaring hungry critters.
Or maybe just light their pathway in...

need to sit for a minute after plumbers left. Been hoeing cabbage for awhile, on my feet too much.
While I was out there I was thinking that two or three hundred years ago folks were doing exactly what
I was doing. Hoeing.
Monday I check out wheat straw at the local store. Not sure how high up on the weed factor that is,
but it seems to be all that's available. No coastal hay locally.
TSC has stuff basically for pet cages.

Oh for that mushroom soil, I could use a semi load

The solar panel will have a higher voltage output than the battery. Likewise in a car-- battery outputs 12.6V, alternator around 14V.

Don, thank for the update.
Was hoping for comments regarding the 吐ood as well.
Here you go David and LSmt125owner-
Here is the meal program, the foods, and ingredients.

I surprised myself today; got all of my yard mowed, edged, and trimmed AND ALL of the one next door. If anyone had told me I could do both in one day, I wouldn't have believed it. I bagged the clippings from my yard, then did the side discharge on the yard next door. In the past, the EGO side discharge chute was worthless because it would just clog up. But with this new high lift blade, it blows the clippings right on out, so I never had to stop to clear it at all.

Thanks Don, exactly what info I was looking for! How is the taste of their soups / products.... Usually those proprietary foods aren't to good. The meal plan actually doesn't sound too bad at all! You reported on the weight loss and "diameter" (hehe), have you been able to check your B/P? Also how did you feel overall during the process?
