That's pretty much what "I" have in mind. I already have the Kubota refer diesel, it's 40hp and cost me $175.00, it's got less than 2000 hours on it,

Now I'm deciding what's going behind it...

Looks like a fun project Rob - pls post up what you end up going with.

Biggest problem right now is, finding time to work on it.

It's not very high on my priority list...

The Want To vs. the Must Do lists...... I am familiar with the conflict !

I wasn't looking for a motor, it just happened that a good friend of mine called me and said his brother got it from work when they tore down their no longer needed refer room and was sending the motor to the scrap yard, IF his brother didn't take it THAT DAY!

He figured the scrap yard would give him a couple hundred for it, so he offered it to me for 175 if I got it right away. He even had the service records for it...

So, it wasn't planned for and I don't have my "ducks in a row"....YET! lol

Yesterday... it's been a few months. Always sitting on a battery tender. No issues, key start in a couple seconds. Let it run for twenty minutes, topped it off. Didn't put a load on it but it purred as usual. (Honda 3000iS). Put it on a small HF dolly so I can wheel it to the shed door to better exhaust the fumes.

Ran the Honda EU2200i for about half hour today under about 1000 watts of load

We had a big storm over the weekend. Lost power about 8pm Friday night so I just went to bed.. woke up at 5 am and still no power..went to work ..got home at 7 pm..still no power. Pulled out the gerneator and took the air cleaner off, blasted some carb cleaner and starting fluid and it fired up on the 4th pull. ..then just like that.. pow... the power came back on.. that's one incredible generator.

Nice runs guys.....

Tom, you really had me laughing, as I've gone through the same thing too..... It's almost like the control operators are running drone surveillance and say "Ok, he's gone to the trouble of pulling out that gen, Now we'll flip the switch !"
