Randy- Thank you for the clarification.

It seems to me that the "Old School" electricians all had "standards" that surpassed, in some ways, "New School" standards. I helped a +80 yo electrician (more cognitively intact than I) rewire our house  during its "rebuild". This guy was an "electrician's 'go to' guy"; an electrician's electrician. A neat guy. It hurt to watch him move around.

He told me that he had this old military gas/diesel bulldozer that started up in gas and when "warmed up" then switched to diesel fuel with "a little commotion." I saw it I never experienced it starting up, but I saw it. To me it was a bulldozer, did they/do they make those things?

My new electrician is the guy who re-wired the old guy's home............. He told me that I have a lot of "unnecessary" outlets, but I have almost al of them used.

Got my recepticals Wired and face plates on except one, I picked all of them from one box and one was different. Gotta back to Home Depot or just run to Ace and keep the other one. No finished pics yet, no lights up yet. This is one wall, I’ll do the other sometime but no rush, I won’t be using this building like I did the original. View attachment 541678View attachment 541679

Ahhhh, I can smell that new construction! Looks good!

From what I read New Jersey north with higher terrain getting the most. It is a part one of two

I agree..... We are reading from the same "Book"  My (Boonton, NJ), BIL is glad that he and GF moved to NC.

Now I am starting to read discussion of this developing system "bombing" and doing a real "loop de loop" track w/i the "block." Too bad it is so "warm" within the area of potential development.

Here are a few pictures of the neighbors snow cat. It's smaller then my Polaris Ranger Crew.
I only drove it a few feet.so I haven't driven it much but I would like to.
It has two transmissions one has five gears and the other one has six gears. Not sure now that works.
It has two sticks for steering.
I got it to start today. She will be back up tomorrow I'll ask her more about. She also has a ten passenger snow cat but I don't think that one is running.

CWB.

Thanks for posting. Looks pretty handy. Especially if the heater works.

It would probably go up that. I've driven it up plenty slopes, sometimes carrying gravel, sometimes a couple of 60 liter jugs of water for the goats, sometimes my father in law :). Behind our house there is a steep, at least 30° at certain points slope, and the only way I can get it up is if its empty and I get off and walk next to it. I was having to drive down the road in front of our house 200 meters, to a neighbor whose path up the ridge was a different geometry, longer, shallower slope, drive up that 300m, and then back to our fields. Wasn't very practical, so pushed me to get the Goldoni with the trailer with powered wheels -- e.g. 4x4. Then I still held on to this because I was using the mower and hay rake part of the system for making hay. Last year I got another cutter-bar mower, and right now I'm having an adapter made so I can use the hay rake with the Goldoni. Thus, no excuse to hang on to this. The trailer hasn't been moved from where it is parked in over a year.

Still, I get hit with a bit of nostalgia, when while looking up photos to put in for sale ad I see my kids helping out / hanging out on the Vari while I was mowing and building fence:

You can imagine the temptation to keep it, maybe they would like it for driving around on if we keep it parked up in the field. But then they can just as well drive the Goldoni, which is a bit more stable; or ride their bikes on the path instead!
We used to have something like that on the farm when i was young. 2 wheels, engine on top. We built a cart for it. Its probably still buried under hay in the barn.

Good evening all. 43F this morning, overcast and light wind. Overcast left quickly, wind increased to 12-17, and high temp of 67F. Choir practice to start, worked on down branch cleanup, went for bike ride, and dumped second load of branched wifey so thoughtfully loaded into pick :). I will be going to Kerrville Easter weekend, and upping miles per week from 100 to 200 slowly. My younger brother had heart surgery (4 bypass), so I see a trip to STL soon.
Did some one say we are supposed to remember why everyone else posts?

Wife and I met on an airport in 1977, she was working for Flight Service, I was riding right seat on mail plane at 2 AM. I was at college, engineering school with 10 guy to 1 girl, so flirted well enough to get St Patrick's date, and rest is history  :cool2: :drink:

jbrumburg,
International Harvester made a dozer that started on gas and ran on diesel.
You pulled the decompression lever on the diesel and started a little 2 cyl gas motor, got it running smooth then engaged a clutch that would get the diesel turning over and when the oil pressure was up on the diesel, then you closed the decompression lever and the diesel 'might' start after some coughing and farting. At that point you shut the gas off on the little motor and let it run out of gas.
A little more complicated than todays diesels. I think John Deere had one or two of them too.

I pulled the cards in the game cams today, 8 megs each used up of 32 gig cards. The batteries are still right up and they had to endure some -10F temps, too.

I have to get the new suicide knob put on the lawn tractor real soon....I might be cutting grass by June.

60 for the high today, well yesterday since it’s after midnight before I get caught up on this thread usually. Currently 40. 8 inches of rain for February. 4.5 in last week. Rivers are starting to crest. Moderate flooding. News media is comparing this to the ‘97 flood (major) but we are still feet away from that. We’re closer to the ‘08 & ‘11 floods.

I have managed to catch what the youngest son had last week. Took him a full week to get over it. Wednesday will be a week of symptoms for me. Hopefully I’m on the mend.

Washed the ranger today and took care of chickens. Pulled hay tarp off 2 year old hay and started feeding it. Buzzards have eat the top of the tarp out so it’s shot. Then set out hay to cows.

Wife and I met in high school. She was interested in me. I was interested in her best friend. When that didn’t work out we got together. Just in time for me to graduate. She was a year behind me in school. We started dating. Married 3 years later. That was 16 years ago.

What model ranger crew is that?

We’ve got a ‘15 ranger 570 crew full size. Love it.

Good luck, hope no-one else gets it. We had in January two weeks of some virus or flu going around all of our kids and us.

We are frozen again this morning, with snow gradually taking away all the color from the countryside.

I'm impressed with your game camera battery life. Either I have a defective one, or some are designed much better than others. What makes do you all have ?

FL, the smaller Belarus compacts are not imported into this country, only larger tractors. The people I know who own them say they are basic, tough machines that are extremely good value for money. It will be interesting to hear what that 320 is like. There is always an advertisement for Belarus in out farming paper.

Don, never really thought before of key lime pie being part of a plant based diet :licking: . I'm not keen on cruises but I would be more than happy to be weaned onto that food for a week.
