Don- Those recipes look interesting. I am slowly working the worst of the "inflammatory" foods out of our diets. This is not easy. The one thing going for me is that I never ate processed breads or foods as a kid. The exception was the "junk meats." I am still challenged by sausages, any kind. :embarrassed:

Wifey hated me the first time that we met +40 years ago. Things have since improved. Maybe it was the trilobite fossil that I found and gave her. Maybe it was the fact that I moved in with her and her coed girlfriends and she did not have the heart to kick me out.

An icy start to the day. Temperature was ~32F then ~40F now with mixed sun and clouds.

The neurologist appointment this AM did not have any surprises.

I gave up Facebook for Lent. The tractor search brought me back to these forums just at the right? wrong? time. :-D

It is looking like either I get one of the Japanese tractors from the guy I went to see a few weeks ago, or if this new Belarus tractor doesn't have totally horrible shifting, I'll get it. Hopefully my friend who has one will have time for me to come drive his around.

We are 6 hours ahead of EST. So it isn't the middle of the night yet. Getting dark though.

Pretty much a lazy day yesterday. Grass is going to need cutting, but needs to dry some first.

Now its evening, but finally I've gotten around to putting my Czech two-wheel tractor up for sale. Should have done that last year. Always much easier to buy stuff than to get the photos together, write a description, get the wife to correct my poor Slovak grammar and post it.

You sound like my Brother. His wife and child wish he could have. So do I. I miss him. There was plenty of studies and data listed that proved it reverses heart disease. You can also eat off the regular menu - so you would not starve.

Sorry about your brother, I have tried to modify my diet especially after having an AMI. Have done a little better but not like I should. Grandmom had a butcher shop from the time I was born up til about my early 20's. Grew up with some sort of meat on the table every night. It's like an addiction, if I don't have "meat" for a few days, I get an insatiable craving... Then I end up eating way too much! I'll eat 'basic' veggies. No salads or the like. Can't stand vinegar, any type of salad dressing, even barbecue sauce. Open a bottle across the room and I'll know it. Love Italian sauce, but can't stand catsup! I'm definitely a strange character! I've driven the wifey nuts for the last 35 years when she cooks... She's an excellent chef, I just won't eat 90% of what she does.... We make a strange couple.

I put in there that the price is firm, if they buy the trailer and transmission together its 10% off, and I prefer to be contacted by email. We'll see how it goes. I've got some small stuff to put on eBay as well.

It is definitely here (and I guess everywhere) part of the "culture" to haggle over prices. Even worse, many advertisements people put up just say "make an offer", or here's the price but there's room for an agreement. Of course, it makes some sense if the seller says "brand new, defect free tractor" and then you go look and notice the oil dripping out everywhere, but otherwise, why not just put the price you want? Or else go the auction route? It annoys me like anything, because prices convey useful information, namely whether I should waste my time calling someone to buy something!

I was reading the Amazon preview of a book "The Lean Farm" and it kind of kicked me to start clearing out stuff. Though, heck, I've known I have too much junk for a long time. Its genetic-- my grandmother in Atlanta kept everything, and the one in Wyoming. The latter has a huge collection of rusting equipment in the field in front of her house. My cousin told me she would haul it off, but her father also won't allow it. I guess, someday, we might need something from the pile of junk, and it will be the week after we hauled it off to the scrapyard.

As they say, you can't take it with you past the grave, and more importantly, there may be someone out there who could use it, so if I offer it for sale at some discount from the price for a new one, its going to make that person's day, and I'm going to have a bit more room!

Since it was stormy much of the day Saturday in our area, I decided to wait until Sunday to do any work in the studio. Got a bunch of things checked off of the honey-do list through much of the day, and suddenly it was dinner time. Figured I'd head in there after we ate. Well, after we ate, she decided to pull out a bottle of red moscato and "chill" out in the sunroom. When she asked me if I wanted to join her, that was hard to refuse. So, we sat out there sipping wine and chatting until bedtime. It was a good evening. Maybe I'll get back to the mixing this evening after work.

One of the things we discussed was that she talked with someone her cousin's husband recommended (he's runs his own construction company) to finish the trim work in our sunroom and basement. We had planned to do it ourselves this Spring, but she's getting impatient. The guy is scheduled to come out some time today to figure any material we still need, then come back and do the work tomorrow. Admittedly, I was kind of looking forward to doing it myself, but I'm also not upset about paying a pro to do it ... freeing up more studio time for me. It's a mixed bag, for sure. But, as they say, "If Momma's happy, ..."

Where we live a lot of hills slope of 14 degrees in front yard only flat areas near road and what I have created with about three hundred yards of dirt and counting but we do have a three quarter acre pond and a couple thousand feet of driveway

The NWS Weather Prediction Center's longer term experimental precipitation prediction is consistent with the elevation effect for the NE CONUS. It still looks like an energy transfer from PA to somewhere off the DelMar coast. My area will start as rain (again) but switch over to snow at some point. The first storm may help usher in colder weather for storm #2 ~ March 7th- 9th. The fact that there is has/been no recent significant sunspot activity may be influencing the strength of North Atlantic blocking high.

It would probably go up that. I've driven it up plenty slopes, sometimes carrying gravel, sometimes a couple of 60 liter jugs of water for the goats, sometimes my father in law . Behind our house there is a steep, at least 30° at certain points slope, and the only way I can get it up is if its empty and I get off and walk next to it. I was having to drive down the road in front of our house 200 meters, to a neighbor whose path up the ridge was a different geometry, longer, shallower slope, drive up that 300m, and then back to our fields. Wasn't very practical, so pushed me to get the Goldoni with the trailer with powered wheels -- e.g. 4x4. Then I still held on to this because I was using the mower and hay rake part of the system for making hay. Last year I got another cutter-bar mower, and right now I'm having an adapter made so I can use the hay rake with the Goldoni. Thus, no excuse to hang on to this. The trailer hasn't been moved from where it is parked in over a year.

Still, I get hit with a bit of nostalgia, when while looking up photos to put in for sale ad I see my kids helping out / hanging out on the Vari while I was mowing and building fence:



You can imagine the temptation to keep it, maybe they would like it for driving around on if we keep it parked up in the field. But then they can just as well drive the Goldoni, which is a bit more stable; or ride their bikes on the path instead!
