Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I do put the coupon on my phone but don't like having to change it every week or four.

Excellent review of the grinders. Thank you.

Just received a HF catalog in the mail with a "ONE DAY ONLY" 25% OFF coupon for ANY SINGLE ITEM. There is nothing printed on the coupon listing any brands or products excluded. It is valid of 4 Sep 17 only. What do you think? I will go to the store Monday and see what I can see.

You must be getting a different catalog than I do. Maybe you need a magnifying glass like I do to read the fine print. I am not even sure I get my money's worth on the membership fee as the extra coupons are always the same old stuff that I either have or don't want. The 20% coupons are everywhere. 20% off on the stuff allowed doesn't trigger a special trip for me, only use them if going there for a specific item. I envision as they move into higher grade and more expensive stuff they will evolve more into what Northern Tool is.

I've been looking for a way to transport my lawn mower or walk-behind string trimmer.

I'll probably still wind up with a little trailer, but this seems to work pretty well so far.

Got this Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter Hitch Carrier for $127.49 with today's 25%-off coupon.

I looked at those last summer for same use, hauling lawn mower or Swisher string trimmer around the ranch. Ended up buying a 4' x 6' trailer with ramp tail gate from Lowes.

Shop Carry-On Trailer 4-ft x 6-ft Wire Mesh Utility Trailer with Ramp Gate at Lowes.com

It has mesh floor but, I cut a piece of 1/2" ply for it if I need a solid deck.

I mounted my 13 HP pressure washer on its own HF trailer.

Has anyone tried the HF hammer and dolly set? I've got some sheet metal to straighten. The 20% coupon should work on this too?

I have a similar set and have used it a few times to straighten out fender or hood dents on tractors I acquired. They work fine for that although sometimes I use a heavier ball pein hammer since the hammers in that type of set are normally lighter. The set works fine and I'm glad I have it. It was bought with a 25% off coupon when it was already on sale so that's an OK price.

I bought mine in person so I could make sure all the heads were tight on the hammers. No big deal but I don't like fixing new things. Also, the metal will rust pretty easy so I wipe mine with an oily rag when done using. It's a good purchase although mine doesn't get all that much use.

A while back there was some conversation about vise grip pliers and their quality. I have this one below and it is an excellent pair of vise grips that I have used and abused for a few years with no problems. This set...

1" Professional Curved Jaw Locking Pliers

I bought on a sale with a coupon and they replaced a cheaper HF version of the same thing. This set is a good one that will withstand hard use but probably not an extreme amount of abuse.

I saw the Vulcan welders in the store today. They all have tremendous eye appeal like a $60,000 pickup. I was impressed.

Whether the superb, obvious quality appearance is matched by the internals remains unknown.

After watching the HF/DeWalt grinder comparison on Youtube that declared those equal, and well built, it appears HF might - might- have set off in a new direction to provide quality tools.

For the high prices HF put on these welders they better be excellent. I am looking forward to seeing Youtube comparison videos.

I'm more optimistic than I was before I saw them.

But I'm not going to buy a Vulcan welder for me. What I already have (at far less cost) has proven sufficient for my farm repairs.
