Good Morning!!!! 77F @ 5:30AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High near 95F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Thunder woke me up at about 3:00AM, but no sign of rain on the radar map. The earlier forecast was calling for showers, but nothing showed up in the rain gauge. Don't like the thought of lightning this time of year. The little town of Quincy, CA, about 60 miles up the Feather River canyon to the east, was issued voluntary evacuation orders last night because of the Minerva Fire, started by lightning last week. 2600 acres burned, 1400 firefighters on the job. Hope they don't lose the fairgrounds; I'm signed up for a motorcycle rally there weekend after Labor Day
Good Luck with the roundup, Don. The older we get, the more difficult change becomes. But in some ways I don't envy younger people at all, what with the way the world is going.
Finished shooting the satin black on a batch of parts yesterday, but by the time the second coat went on, it was too hot and the paint didn't level out very well. Most of the parts were pretty rough castings so it doesn't show, but the two lever perches will probably have to be redone. Today I'll try to get some primer on some parts I had to patch with body filler, and also shoot the semigloss black batch of parts. That means an early start, and probably a siesta this afternoon.
Installed a HomeKit compatible wall switch for the ceiling fan in the master bedroom yesterday so I can make sure the fan isn't left on. To get back the multi-speed capability provided by the old switch, I also installed a remote controller in the fan housing. During all this I learned that the pull chain speed control on the side of the fan had been set to medium, meaning all the speeds from the wall switch were operating at only half speed. Now the low speed is about like the old medium speed, and I'm not sure I like all that air movement when I'm trying to sleep. :confused2: Don't know if it's all the smoke in the air or if it's just dust, but I've been sneezing a lot lately. Could just be that I'm also building up the dose on a new bottle of antigens for the allergy shots, kind of a mini version of what Farmer's going through now.
Hope everyone enjoys the weekend...:drink:
