78.8F, mostly cloudy and fairly breezy @ 11:00 with 80% humidity ... high hit 86F yesterday which spawned some late day thunderstorms that rolled in around 20:30 yesterday. Local station down the road a few miles says they got .85" of rain ... we might have had more, it was coming down in buckets. Chance for a repeat today. Grass will be loving it.

Possibly a mostly inside day today, might try to get out and at least fill the bird feeders though. CV joint boot kit should be at NAPA so I'll run down and grab that.

Any updates/activity on that nest box (barn owl ?) you built a while back ?

How is the new roof working out ?

After being over in the barn when it was raining, I've thought that I'd enjoy a metal roof here on the house ... just enjoy the sound of the rain I guess.

I need to clear out the barn also. 2 oil tanks, truck cap, gokart, bunch of scrap metal. No airplanes.

Plan on suiting up in the morning with hat, goggles, dust mask, long sleeves, long pants, boots and trying to mow some more tall grass without getting jammed up with the allergies. If I get a decent start, I should be able to get some done before it gets too hot.

Had a couple RC planes years ago, my younger brother and I got a kit to put together one Christmas when I was in college, then a glider with motor, never really got the hang of flying either.

BIL's son and wife were due to arrive last night from Oregon, so maybe the kids get together today. Been 7 years since they were last together.

The only activity at the Barn owl hutch has been some squirrels now and then... I did hear what I believe is a great horned owl the other morning. The barn owls won't come if there's a GHO in the neighborhood. We've had one or more GHOs for years now. They got the neighbors' kittens last year, and now we have a new to us chihuahua that is about 6 years old and 5 lbs, so I told my daughter to not take her outside without a leash.

The roof has been a blessing. So far, so good.

I tend to "suit up" too. long sleeves, pants, boots, hat, protective glasses, and especially a good dust mask.
