Good evening all. Last of the cool days, 52F for a start and clear light breeze. Winds picked up to 15-25, temp warmed to 79F and sky stayed clear today. Men's conversation this morning followed by bike ride, lunch and nap. Went to stepdaughter's for dinner

I'm guessing it's rare for temp to exceed 3000 degrees, in North Cali., this early in the year?

That was a real tough place to be raised in. Where in the world did you grow up ?
In this age of everything being quicker and more convenient, I'm impressed you have the patience to appreciate using a muzzle loader. Do you shoot with modern "smokeless" powders, or indulge in the old black powder ? I love the smell of the original gunpowder and the way, unless you are shooting in a gale force wind, the drifting smoke cloud obliterates everything in front of the barrel.

68 going to 77 today, cooler, drying out, all the rain headed to New England today.
going to be a lot of lawn mowers roaring away here to try to catch up.
this weekend if the woods are dry enough I hope to attack a medium large pine tree that has died and tangled into other trees in the front woods. Going to put the grapple on the Kubota and the chipper on the Massey and carefully head into the woods. I also have a dead dogwood tree in my front lawn that has bummed me out. Really nice tree, just plain died over the winter. An older and younger dogwood near it are doing fine. Good firewood, but need to wait until the lawn has dried out before I go in and pull out the tree. Now I have to find a nice ornamental tree to put in that spot.

Fell asleep in chair (so what's new) last night awoke to banging sounds. Sounds like coming from bedroom nothing there sit back down more banging look out on front porch face to face with 200 pound plus black bear Turing over big flower pots and into Rubbermaid box with bird feeder in it and he will not leave. After cutting on lights and ceiling fans the bear departs. Finally got toned at 2:00AM enough excitement for one night

Drinking first cup of coffee. 58° with light rain this morning. Heading to 62° with off and on rain all day. With motorhome gone. I can now get rest of animal bran cleaned up/organized. Still a few days work at the rate things have been going. Doctors report came in yesterday. All is good. The older I get the more these test worry me. Today is a trip to east side and visit with a old friend.
Drew, it amazes me that trees die/fall over after they have been in place for years. Mother nature at work? I still have to finish cleaning up tree that came down last February.
