Good morning!!!!

Bit of a change in plans from this morning...
Wife and stepdaughter went to Concord to shop. Since I'm not a "shopper" nor do I care to dawdle around a store, I stayed home to watch the dog (who doesn't need watching...never any separation anxiety problems with Bella) and just goof off.
I cleaned and lubed my recently acquired Kahr CW9...as well as an ATI 1911 Officer's Model pistol I bought during the winter. I took a run down the field with the Kahr, but too wet to pop any rounds (I prefer a solid stance when shooting)...maybe tomorrow. It was muddy enough I thought I'd be walking up from the field....Gator just wanted to spin the tires.
So, that was a couple hours ago...now, I'm sipping a beer and watching the pup snore...
Good day, IMHO, for a Good Friday!

My 454 was actually a 468 after the machine shop got done, it would consistently show 525-528 h.p. With a the N20 using medium jets it would dyno at 640-645, depending on temps in the dyno room but it was too rich out of the cool water. We didn't have GPS on boats back then, but the DNR radar had it at 78 mph in the 6 mph limit at the Whitehaven Ferry. That motor in a good prop boat hull would have run 10 mph faster, jets were a blast but not the most efficient. That is a great movie!

Toppop, my boat started with an olds 455 then when someone had a faster boat on the lake my father in law switched to a built 427 / 60 over hooked to nitrous, after 20 years under the tarp new motor is a 454 that's more than enough for me.

good to be home, hectic day since I got home at one, found message on machine saying my lawn mower was ready. so flew around unloading rv and
putting it back under shed ever so carefully. Then put the utility trailer on the truck and ran over to JD dealer and got my mower back. Deck jammed underneath,
allegedly fixed, though when I ran the hydraulics up and down and it was hardly smooth. By the time that was unloaded and everything put away, I was ready for a nap.

A quick one helped, and then to read Eric's sad tale of woe, real woe to the poor animals. They're just lamb chops on the hoof to that canine predator.
Wolf! the sheep cried in Babe, the kid's movie, about the attacking dogs. Wolf! To a lamb it is for sure. No different than having a small mountain lion take the sheep down.
Except I think a cat would kill one and take it away, not just blood lust kill whatever it can. Sorry Eric.

lots of pics from rv trip to Wilmington NC. Major port city with a lot of history.

Except I think a cat would kill one and take it away, not just blood lust kill whatever it can.

A few years ago a mountain lion killed seven of my neighbor's goats one night. None of 'em were dragged off or eaten, it was pure sport killing. Around here there's an acronym: SSS. Shoot, Shovel, Shutup. Can't say for sure, but I've heard it works pretty well.

Don, glad to hear fence line is clear.

Opps, you mis-understood. A perimeter trail has been cleared Most of it (except the part you and I cleared) is 20-30 feet from the fence line. Cleaning the fence line is a job I will not attempt until it needs fixing or replacing. I was just trying to drive close enough for a visual inspection.

Eric, sorry about your lambs. I'm with Kyle, I hope they find a chip so the dog owner can be held responsible.

We are having a problem in the county. Someone is shooting cows. There have been 6 shot in the last month. It is not hunting season so someone is just being cruel. None of the cows on our place have been shot but when I seen them near the front road fence I tell them to move to the back. They don't really listen.

Nice pics Drew!

Drew nice pics looks like a good trip. Nice afternoon in the 60s so I took the time to remove dents, scrape clean and replace the bolts on boat trailer fenders. Trailer had been sent out for sandblasting and new paint. If tomorrow morning is clear with no heavy wind I'll get them painted then when trailer gets back I can put it back together.
