34 right now...high will be about 50. Maybe an early Spring? But, I'm sure we will have a surprise from Ol' Man Winter before it's all said and done.

A wild windy good morning from me. We have a storm building up from the north, set to peak tomorrow at 70-80mph in our area. They have named this one "Dorris", so that is going to make tommorrow - Dorris Day. Now should I be keeping up with the weather radar, or just hum along to the lyrics - Que sera sera, whatever will be will ... :)

Kyle, Farmer2009, a bit of detail like you tell is good for GM, it keeps life interesting.

Mostly, have patience and you will find that M4.5 screw, if not let me know and I will get you one. I wouldn't have been able to wait though, I would have run an M5 tap through by now and probably ruined the aesthetics.

Disappointed in people!
Sunday evening, I was off and took my wife for a walk nearby. We saw a man trying to break the lugs loose on a flat on his pickup and finally angled over to help. Short lug wrench and impacted on meant no dice.

After I said maybe get yourself a longer breaker bar or cheater we could get it. He said he wasn't in position to buy anything. And then it started raining.

I walked wife back to hotel(grumbling) and got my truck, drove to nearby Lowes and having nothing that would work, bought a small air compressor for about 50 bucks.
Back to man's truck. Aired up tire and saw it had a leak. Remember it was rainy? So I could see bubbles.
In a fit of kindness (stupidity), I left him the compressor and said return it later. I leaned back in my truck and had wife check billfold but I only had a couple of bucks in cash with me. I was going to give him enough to go get a lug wrench at least. So nix that.

He'd asked about knowing for any work around so I gave him my card and my foreman's number and told him to call and tell him I said to find him some work on one of the crews.
So FForward to next morn about 6 am. I get a text thanking me, going to call about job and return my air pump today or tomorrow. Monday.
Tuesday. I asked foreman and he did call and he said he found him something good.
Last night (Tuesday) I finally sent him a return txt to that number he wrote from and asked "hey. Did you forget me?" As a way off the hook thing.
Nothing.

It's not the money. For me it's the not returning something borrowed.
And the breaking of a man's word.
I feel a little hypocritical because my wife says I should feel good because "You did the right thing."
I actually only feel....
About 50 bucks poorer!

Lenny, nothing ventured nothing gained, you tried your best, did your very good deed, and that deed stands all by itself. If the person being helped doesn't respond well, doesn't take away from your goodness. Your wife is right on this one. ;)
But annoying...particularly when you tried so hard. At least he did say thank you once.

warm weather here through Saturday, seventies and even 80 one day I think, nights in low 50's. That is really going to turn everything on here. Last year I had to start mowing lawn/early weeds in March. Looks to be about the same this year, or earlier, we'll see what three or four warm days in a row do.

I had to chuckle about the dinner entertainment showing how to deliver calves. My first job out of college was in institutional feeding and part of my training was being sent to a slaughterhouse in North Philadelphia where all kinds of animals were processed, often by Kosher methods, the long sword and everything. Pretty gruesome if you are not used to it. And when the tour was done, they offered us all some hamburger freshly made...few could try it, one person looked quite ill...

40 out this AM. What to do? A nice thought....

Daffodils are coming up strong all over now, maples really sprouting too, and most everything I am looking at has buds.

Somehow, I just don't think this is "right". It's like we are off a month or more. And, we are now in drought conditions. Well that's what the news says, yet I look at the creek and it is still running high. Odd.

Have a great day all, be safe!

40 going to 65 and maybe rain so glad I finished painting yesterday. I feel good.

After 4 straight days of 4-6 hours painting, I'll take a day off and hike with Coco after a morning meeting.

Lenny, nice deed. You may never know the long term impact it will have on that guy.

Riptides, same here with the maples and daffodils and peepers.

Eric, hope your Dorris Day is as kind to you as our Doris Day is to animals.

Essential oils sound interesting. Glad they are working.

You did what you thought was right and for that you are to be commended. Because he turned out to be something else is his problem. Your wife is right because you did do the right thing
