I sure see lots of flat bed trucks with sideboards but no tail board. I'm surprised more items aren't lost, especially at an uphill stop sign or light.

I am close to using up the last of a spool of red-jacketed 14 gauge solid wire that must have fallen off an electrician's truck. I found it about 10 years ago. Just sitting by the road, damaged from the fall and rolling, but perfectly usable. No way to trace the owner, so....

I have a very nice 16lb sledge hammer that I found laying in an intersection about 15 years ago. Same deal, no way to trace the owner...

It looks like the spare tire just falls off the trailer when he hit a bump, makes me seem to think people loosened his load or he's really bad at tightening things down. Fender would hit before the spare tire would.

Case in point

The spare tire sticks out as far or the same width as the trailer tires BUT.

The way dividers are made the trailer wheels or fenders would hit first, I'm thinking sabotage.

To me, it looks like the spare was held on with just one nut and it had wiggled very loose. It looks like the nut either fell off or was very near to it and just a slight nudge from the wall knock the nut, and tire off.

Park that trailer in lots of places, and that spare tire will be gone!
Cost is $150 retail, but $35 cash for a thief!

I have my spares bolted, chained and a padlock. Still no guarantee but it will stop most thieves. Mine are around $190 for wheel and tire.

There looks to be more than just slick roads involved. You can see the flashers on the first trailer but not the second trailer. Could something have come disconnected causing the second trailer's brakes to lock up? The tractor and first trailer seemed to track down the raod but the second trailer was sliding. What ever it was that driver did an amazing job but probably needs new pants.
