Any Christmas morning "projects"?

Merry Christmas, did anyone have to put together anything this morning or have stories from past Christmases assembling things?

I got my wife a new Coach watch this year and with her tiny wrists I had to remove 2 watch band links. That's something I never attempted before. I ended up getting my smallest jewelers screwdriver and grounding the end off of it. I put the band on it's edge on an old instruction manual that's about 1/2 inch thick and drove the pin out with a hammer and into the paper. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be but using a headlight helped. I was pretty proud that I didn't damage the gold plating on the band and got it all back together. I got an A+ from my wife for that!

Santa brought my 4 year old son a Transformer robot that changes into a jet. That was quite a challenge too. I had to go to youtube to figure that one out!

I put together a kitchen playset for my youngest daughter after she opened it...

Not Christmas related, but I need to finish some horse fence repairs we started yesterday after one got out. Poor things stuck in the barn until repairs are finished.

No Christmas projects for me nor put together items. None of my kids could make it for Christmas so we are having our Xmas celebration after New Years.
My German Shepherd dog woke me at 0530 barking like crazy so I let him out to go chase something out of the yard. Too much fog to see very far with a light but whatever it was, he got them away from here. Before sun up, he had me out playing fetch with the Frisbees. Sometimes I wonder who is fetching when he doesn't bring them all the way back. I use two and he likes to try to beat me back to the previously thrown one and then it is keep away time with him determined to have them both.

63F here before daylight, what a Christmas Day temp to have here. Anyone else have unseasonably warm temps?

Not exactly what you have in mind but we started this morning working on our spare bedroom turning it into the nursery. Found out Wed I'm having a little girl in May been waiting on that bit of information to get started.

Yep my mom is through the roof after raising two boys and growing up with two brothers. She's gonna spoil her to death.

Congratulations, my friend! Our little girl turned one a few weeks ago. It's been a blast. She'll love being on the farm with you and eating soil. Our MX has been real popular with her also, hopefully yours is a well .



I didn't have any pressing projects this morning, but I split a little firewood, cleaned the air filter off my stihl 660, and touched up a chain. Firewood time of year for me.

Not a Christmas morning project, but today I was told by my wife that for my Christmas present she had ordered 1400 sq ft of hardwood flooring it will be here in two weeks and I "get" to pull out the carpet and install the wood.

70+ year old farm house... Floors were carpeted because nothing in here is straight, flat or true.
So tomorrow is start pulling up carpet, then off to the lumberyard for a load of plywood, and some floor leveling compound. This isn't what I would call a joy, but she wants it done, so I guess I'm on the hook.

You are an honorable man!!!! This will be a challenge worthy of documenting. Start a thread and we'll off morale support!!!!

Hardwood flooring and/or Laminate Flooring doesn't do lateral bends very well. Any vertical imperfection is going to cause lateral bending.

Spend a LOT of time getting things level before you start to minimize the hassles.

Spent the last 2 Christmas Eve's putting together toys for grand-daughter. Ladt year was a toy kitchen, it took three trades people 3hrs putting it together. Last night was 4 storey dollhouse for use with barbie dolls, and a vanity for her "make-up"

I usually only get to see her at Christmas due to work.

Built an electronic drum set. Helped set up a fitbit watch and helped set up an ipod. Pretty easy this year compared to past ones.

I got to put a new Trap thrower together, has a seat & legs, plus it can be mounted to a receiver hitch on a vehicle, being it was 70 degrees yesterday, target's & shells available, we had a few hours of fun busting clays.
We sat the fold down plastic table up on the deck & several of us ate outside on Christmas night, can't remember the last time it was warm enough for that.
Have to head to town for more gas for the Gator, it got a workout with nieces, nephew & their parent's.

We went to see our son and his girlfriend in the evening. They got engaged on Christmas morning. My project was some small electrical repairs on their house.

With 2 out and 1 grown kid at home Christmas in much more calm and relaxed. In a few years hopefully will have the next generation to bring back the wonder of the high energy excitement Christmas.

I got tired of sitting so I split firewood for my parents. They are in their mid 70's and refuse to use central heat.

After opening gifts, my teenage daughter decided to "sleep in", so I vacuumed, cleaned the bathrooms and did two loads of laundry.
