Putting it to good use. I really like this machine.

Cut in a new drainage ditch and tied it into an existing one, mucked out the old.

Talk about a challenge.

I guess the consensus is that my ripper on the bucket idea is not a good idea in that it won't be effective or could cause damage.

I'm starting a " My stump is bigger than your stump " hijack . I dug this out of my son's back yard, it was hidden under a raised up flower bed he wanted to get rid of. I actually drove the mini ex up onto the stump so I could dig under it. This was with my little kx71. It is hard to believe the hydraulics on these machines. Took an entire day to get out, move, and grade back, but it was all fun...

I took out a tulip tree and stump today, little better than 24" at the butt, used the trunk for leverage after digging it out. It obviously wasn't as tough as the 36" oak, but it had a tougher root system then I anticipated.

Its funny how some trees fool you. I have dug some smaller tress that were a bear to get out and a few weeks ago I took down a 20" round oak in 30 minutes, couldn't believe how easy it was. Next oak may take all day - just depends on so many different things. Looks like you are doing some major digging and clean up around your place. Sure is nice to have a capable machine handy!!

I agree. When I start digging out a sizeable tree I have no expectations of a timeline. It will take however long it takes. :)
