Good Morning! 61F @ 4:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High around 90F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Better luck next time with the foil, Buckeye. Must be difficult figuring out what's going inside that sealed pouch, but it sure makes clean up a breeze.
Drew, .22 ammo can't be reloaded, and a lot of people were/are stockpiling as a result. The plants have been running three shifts trying to keep up, and recent surveys I've read say that availability is much better now. Cheaper Than Dirt often has sales on the stuff, but mostly from off shore suppliers. And I picked up a couple bricks when I passed through Reno this spring, even though I already had plenty...
Rick, sounds like you enjoyed the trip. Always some trepidation making recommendations, as ownership and chefs change so frequently in these trendy times. This week's cooler weather doesn't hurt a thing, either! But how the heck did the inside of your house get up to 106F?
Eric, I'd be happy to save you some blue, but I don't think you'll ever need it. You see, I've never, ever, seen a grease gun that got rusty. Not one that got used regularly at least, as I'm sure your pet does.
I banked at a credit union for 28 years, and when I retired and moved up here, set up accounts at the largest CU in the area. It was horrible. A fee for this, a fee for that, even simple things like money orders or coin wrappers cost extra and the staff didn't want to be bothered. Crappy interest rates on the savings account, too. This turns out to be one of the most economically disadvantaged counties in the state, and I think that CU was really having to cut corners to compensate for the low account balances. Since there wasn't any appreciable difference between them and a bank, I shopped for a nation wide bank and ended up at BofA after Wells Fargo declined to issue me a credit card. Never did figure out what that was about, as my credit rating is pretty good and I had plenty of money on deposit. I could rejoin my old CU, but it would be a three hour drive to cash a check or retrieve a computer backup from the safe deposit box. The new VISA card I was just issued from Costco comes out of Citi Bank, so maybe I'll give them a look. The web site that supports the card is well organized, which is a good sign...
The bodyman/neighbor showed up again yesterday morning and finished up the panel hammering and bondo work on the van. I finished rough sanding on the rear and roof, so all that's left is fine sanding and cleaning/scuffing of some of the utility areas (radiator bay, door jams). Should get that done in the next couple of days. Then it'll be time to put together the temporary spray booth and try it out when I prime the body. It'll be a good dry run for the main paint job, as I'm still not convinced I can see well enough to get the color coats down evenly.
