New to me, anyway. 1964 White 4200 winch truck. The engine is a White-built 470A Mustang, six cylinder flathead, 477 ci, five speed main trans, three speed auxiliary trans. The truck has less than 100,000 miles on it because it was used locally by a oil well servicing company. I bought it from the original owner. The engine runs if I squirt gas in the carb, I've sent the fuel pump away to be rebuilt. Cab has rust in the back corners and in the lower corners of the windshield. This is a very well equipped truck for its time. I'll do a partial restoration on it, the truck was too good to let go for scrap. I just wish the owner had kept it under a shed or at least kept a tarp over it.

I figured the safest way to haul it was to hire someone equipped to do it right. This truck weighs about 18,000# and it would be hard for me to get it on my trailer. I'd have had to push it up on my trailer with my tractor, this rig had a winch to pull it on the trailer. I'm going to get the same people to haul a 30' oilfield trailer that came with this truck.

I see, that trailer looks pretty beefy...

I can't wait to see what it will look like when you have it restored!

The 5th wheel sure looks like it doesn't pivot up and down much...... must have been used in flat areas...

Nice find... how about some pictures of the inside, cab close ups?

Cool old truck!

The truck needed a new fuel pump to run. None available so I sent the old one to Northwestern Auto Supply in Grand Rapids, Michigan to be re-built. I got it back yesterday and will install it tomorrow. While waiting for the pump I pushed the truck into the shop and removed the left front wheel and fender to make it easier to get to the engine.

I got the fuel pump installed. Engine started and ran pretty rough so I did a full tune-up. New plugs, points, condenser, distributor cap, rotor and new coil. Runs very smoothly now but the carb is dripping gas from the accelerator pump area. I pulled the carb and have sent it to Northwestern Auto Supply to rebuild.

I had the trailer hauled in a few days ago. No way I could have loaded it on my trailer. It's a 30' '48 American oil field float and built very heavy. Besides needing a new floor it's going to need all eight wheels and tires.

Yes, I am. I'm president of the East Texas Wildcatters Chapter of ATHS. Also a member of the Classic White Truck Group, a division of ATHS. I know of a few ATHS members in Missouri. Do you have a truck?

JESSE1, my trucks aren't old enough to be historical (yet). My dad is a member and has some older trucks, they are International. Didn't mean to hijack your thread.

I've done lots of work on the truck in the last six months. Bought new rear tires, still need to replace the front tires. Ripped out the floorboards and welded in new steel. Added a fuel tank to replace the rusted out saddle tanks, I'm using them for steps. The truck runs great, nothing like the sound of a big flathead White engine with dual exhaust manifolds. I plan on getting it licensed soon.

Wow Jesse, that looks great! Have you done much to the trailer yet?

Only thing I've done to the trailer is strip the rotten flooring off.
