What gives with dealers on tractor house?

In addition the dealers that advertise with TH.com also drive up their own Google rankings.

Not really. TH does their best to put as few backlinks to the dealer as possible to keep visitors on their website.

I personally have not been able to make an actual business case for spending money on TH for several years, its one of those things you end up doing just because everyone else does.

Many times I have become excited about a listing, or often an auction, only to find out that was five years ago. At least then, it would be nice if the selling price was indicated, but it never is.

That tractor was about fifteen minutes away. Brindley always has neat stuff and I wonder where they get it.

I became frustrated and gave up with online listing sites when dealers I inquired to kept responding that the tractor listed was no longer available. Happened three times in a row. Just like these fools on CL that sell something and don't take down their ads. Big waste of everyone's time and shows a lack of respect for potential customers.

Finally found a machine on ebay and only bought after seller responded to my questions in a reasonable amount of time with all questions answered to my satisfaction. With ebay you can find dealers with good feedback and the ad is marked sold when the unit is purchased. There are lots of dealers on ebay I wouldn't mess with but they are easy to pick out. I would never buy a large purchase without asking some sort of question or questions just to gauge their response time and answers.

I take it all back!

Do NOT buy anything you cannot test and check out in person.

The short story is the Backhoe I purchased was not "ready to work" as advertised. Showed up with no brakes, a blown stabilizer cylinder, and a bad battery to name a few. Still investigating and trying to get brakes bled to evaluate but if the cylinders are leaking inside the rear axle it will be expensive. Thing is I specifically asked the seller if it had any leaks and the condition of the brakes before making my final offer to purchase. He replied no leaks and brakes good.

Was it a dealer or private seller?

I shouldn't get into a lot of detail here. Getting off topic in the thread already so don't want to hijack any further so this will be my final response here.

The seller seems to be an independent used equipment dealer. Has a lot of transactions and equipment listed on ebay. He's about to get another red spot but only had a few to start so I thought I could trust his description and answers to my questions. I messaged him this morning to let him know of my disappointment to see if he offers any resolve before I give negative feedback on him.

Since my last post I got the brakes to bleed out a little but they still won't hold. First stroke goes straight to the floor and has to be pumped up. I will try flushing a little more of that $20 per quart NH brake oil through them but I assume the old ran out inside the rear axle. It looks dry at the masters. Newest revelation is it will only run about 5 minutes then shuts off. Has to sit 30 minutes or so before it will restart. Oh and the 4WD doesn't work either. Almost stuck it in some damp clay. Lifted it with the bucket and put it in gear and the front wheels don't even move. Finding a lot of broken and disconnected wires so I'm hoping for a simple fix on the 4WD.
