Got up to 40 here, it was sunny early on, but then the clouds moved in. Meanwhile, I embarked on a Adventures in Plumbing!! exercise. I've taken to referring to these things as "adventures", that way when things go sideways, I don't feel bad. Almost works. A shower valve would not quit leaking, so I replaced the valve. So far, so good. But then I thought that the rest of the hardware needed updating. About $150 and 3 trips to the store, and I finished!! The big Unit, ( wife ) is now taking a bath. And no leaks!! Only took 5 hours. Which is probably 4 hours more than a plumber would take, but I work cheap....:)

Have a good one!

Wife's mower arrived early afternoon.
A couple of nice guys doing the delivery, but just a contract job, nothing to do with Sears.
Bone dry on gas, kinda tells me that while it was uncreated and assembled at the warehouse, it was never started or tested in anyway.

Took me about an hour fiddling and reading so called manual, before I gave up and called support number. I couldn't get it started :(
Has this new keyless system that requires a code. While there was a brochure that explained how to set the code, nothing gave an initial code.
Support gave me an unlock code, again nothing in anything I received. So I think I know what to do now, we'll see tomorrow.

Did take it for a test mow and quite impressed. Seems much faster than the old tractor and cut very well. I predict wife is going to love it - once she learns how to start it.

10 degree right now...high of 37 today.

a warm 48 degrees going up to 55 today with rain coming in this afternoon.
Have food shopping to do this morning, then back to move sand and stone around. Yesterday was fun but
I have to stop doing the "well I'll just do a little raking" part. I have a helper coming Sunday but gosh there's just that little part,
and well, that part over there, and that part and oh does my arm hurt... Will take some pics today, and maybe move a couple more pieces of equipment over while the ground is still dry. My mind continues to write checks my body complains about cashing but as long as those checks don't bounce...actually my right hand and arm are now so numb I can hardly type because my right pinkie finger can't seem to find the shift key. So the sensible thing to do would be to just chill out today.
Sure. Yup. Maybe.

My next project is pulling everything out of the center of the barn, dumping ABC and then sand in there to level the very washed out dirt floor, and then lay some recycled pavers in there. And for once, I'll think I'll supervise on this one. Maybe...;)

Have a good Friday and hopefully a good weekend planned. Anyone here young enough to still go snow skiing?

39 going to 46 and a little drizzle. Big rain coming this weekend.

Drew, don't know if I'm actually young enough, but I go skiing every couple of years - last went 2 years ago in West Virginia.

Congrats on the plumbing job. Sounds like my last one. I'll have to remember your "Adventure" terminology - very fitting for many of my endeavors.

Good morning. No rain for the next few hours and the sun is out too. :dance1:

I managed a little tractor time yesterday after all, back up at the local campsite. Someone had sold a caravan and the buyer had got his fancy four wheel drive mighty stuck while attempting to take it away. I suspect caravan is a British word - what would you call a motorhome without a motor, with the axle(s) in the middle and towed behind a car ?
