Whats wrong with that? Its wide, but its not heavy and it appears to be setup to haul the load.

Saw a sheet of plywood fly out of a truck or trailer ahead of me tonight. Hit a car. Car not badly damaged but truck kept going. think the plywood came from the bed of the trailer but not sure.

Was behind a couple of "interesting" loads this week, sorry, no pics.
Monday, pallet of concrete bags just set in the back of a lifted ford. No sign of a strap anywhere. He'd taken off the tailgate for loading, so not even that...I was looking right up the fork slots.
Yesterday, a V8 in the back of a beat up Toyota. Not a strap or chain in sight, though in theory there could have been something below tailgate height. I could see it rock on every curve.

No pics, but I passed a semi loaded with pulling tractors. There was a chain wrapped overly long rear axles on each side and the ends of the chains were in the slots on each of the trailer with a cam over tensioner. That was all there was holding them on the trailer.

Once saw a guy carry a manual transmission loose in a pickup bed and on a fast stop, the input shaft came right through the bed's headboard. If he had had an accident, it probably would have come into the cab.

That happens more often than you'd realize. One fella locally was very proud of his new chevy pickup he'd recently modified and was at the gravel lot having them load his truck down with all it would hold. He kept an eye on the springs as they loaded, stopped them once it was setting on the overload springs.
He made it about a mile down the road before having to do a quick stop going down a rather steep hill. The gravel came through the front of the bed and into the back of the cab. There was almost as much gravel in the cab as was remaining in the bed...

Similar damage, but from idiot towing: Long ago one friend with an Olds Rocket 88 towed another that had the engine removed. Apparently he wanted to show what it could do so he floored it departing a stop sign. Early Hydramatics were 4-speed with a granny first, they would launch fast and shift up after about 30 ft. He must have hit peak rpm before he got to the end of the slack in a tough tow chain. The chain was wrapped around the towed vehicles front crossmember - and this bent it badly.
