80F and sunny @ 12:00 ...
So far behind on this thread I dunno know if I'll ever get caught up ...
Pulled about 8 - 10 pallets of stuff out of the polebarn yesterday, along with the hay wagon and backhoe, as there was no rain in the foreseeable future, and got all the screened fill I had in there spread out and leveled. Still need more fill.
Of course, the forecast has now changed and they are calling for thunderstorms late tonight into tomorrow ...
The rods on the backhoe bucket curl cylinder and one of the stabilizer cylinders were pitted with some rust, so I had to spend around an hour cleaning those up with some fine sandpaper before I could move the cylinders and mount the thing. Probably will have to check into getting them re-chromed.
A couple of days ago I managed to puncture the right front tire on the Kubota while trying to help my young neighbor free Grandpa's Gator that he'd gotten stuck. It was a good-sized piece of wood that I ran over that did it ... created a tear almost two inches long. These were the original R-4's (15 years old) and the tread was pretty worn down and the tires had a lot of cracks in between the tread ribs ... so I went ahead and replaced both front tires ... almost $300 (ouch) Oh well, needed to be done.
On a more positive note, a TBN friend who has an HVAC business called and said they were going to install a furnace for a customer to replace his oil furnace and wanted to know if I wanted the fuel that was still in the tank. Told him I'd take the (free) fuel and the tank. Said there's around 140 gallons still in the tank
Today was supposed to be the day that we tried to remove and transplant some oaks that are growing right next to the house. Hafta see how that goes. Woman is heading out right now with a friend to do some grocery shopping.
Might try and get the trench dug for the downspout drain on the northwest corner of the garage. Before I do the rodeo on moving everything back into the polebarn.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive weekend.
