Good morning!!!!

Good Afternoon. 1355, sunny, 95F {heat index of 106F} with 51% humidity. Forecast high of 95F with 20% chance of rain today, and a low of 77F tonight. As early as it is, I figure we will top yesterday's high of 97F later this afternoon.

I got in 2 1/2 hours in the garden this morning before work. I hoed the corn, and hilled up the melons, cucumbers, yellow squash and acorn squash, and gave them all a drink of blue juice. I always try to wait as long as I can to use the sprinklers on the viney stuff so the grass doesn't get a head start.

One of the AC's at work is out. It's the one for my office, the Conference Room and the Arts and Crafts Room. I moved a baby shower down to the Ball Room so they wouldn't burn up. And I've got a fan in the door blowing cool air into the office from the Lobby.

You guys have a good one,

Larro

Larro, thanks for the NASCAR update. Candyman is not one of my favorite drivers. But it may be worth watching the recording.

Sorry if I spoiled it for you. I wasn't even thinking. Often we watch the end of the late races the next morning. But the new aero package seems to make for more side by side racing. There was a lot of back and forth, all through the field.

Good afternoon all. Nice temps this morning but did not see what it was likely low 70's with 10 mph breeze. Currently 97F HI 107 (DP 73F) . Not forecast to get much hotter. Visited another church this morning, making plans to move out in the morning, and into OUR house :)

You did not spoil if for me. My son roots for Scruffy. Sent me a text as soon as race was over.

And yeah, always run the carb dry before putting a small engine away. Saves having to take the carb apart to unstick a stuck float needle.
Think that is going to become the new S.O.P. around here ...

RS, same thing happened to me at the Stihl dealer with a carb rebuild kit, except he knew two versions had been used, and since I didn't bring the carb with me, he guessed it'd be the more common one in hopes of saving me a return trip. It didn't fit, so the carb went back with me and it did turn out to be the other kit, which was also less expensive. Life is like a box of chocolates. ...
Yup ... unfortunately I got stiffed by the dealer on my return ... for $7 or $8 ... on a $45 kit.

I didn't catch it was the wrong carb kit until I had gotten home and opened the plastic package it came in and compared the gaskets (4 bolt holes) vs. the one (with 3 bolt holes) that I needed.

Unfortunately, there was no slip of paper in the package listing its contents (nor any instructions) and the computer didn't show a listing of what came in the kit either ... so they were taking back something that they had no way of verifying whether it was all there or not. Not that they ever bothered to ask me ...

I squealed, but to no avail ... told the guy that waited on me that it sure kinda sucked ... considering that they were the ones that told me it was the correct kit, after I provided the Briggs model, type, and code.

I also pointed out that the plastic package when I picked it up had been folded over and taped ... and if I was the least bit dishonest, I would have trimmed off the torn part of the plastic and simply re-taped it closed, to hide the fact that I had opened it ... and that it really sucked that they penalized their customers for being honest.

C'est la vie ...

Time to find a new dealer. My Stihl guy took back the open bag (they go through bunches of 'em in the back) no problem. They'll even take back parts they have to order in. Surprising, as they're the only Stihl dealer in town, and could be real PITAs about stuff like that if they wanted to. But then there's always eBay...

Hmmm. Either KevT has been lost since somewhere in Georgia or we have him at the wrong Walnut Creek. He seems to be in WV where there is also Walnut Creek, of course. Sorry about that. :) Just as well, Wilmot, OH used to be a speed trap.

Oh Gee, Thanks for letting me know after the trip... Trip went well, fell in love with WV, saw lots of deer beside the HWY, still standing... The wifi at the motel in Walnut Creek was slower than dial up and to frustrating to use.

Good to see you are home safely and enjoyed the trip. Hope the horse/cart driving instructions were useful.

78F here this evening after a high of 90F. I gave myself the day off.

Evening fellows, hope everyone had a great weekend.
My dog has been eating grass clipping and it makes him sick sometimes. Tried solving the grass clipping problem by buying a mulching kit for the Rider I have, clipping were smaller and it cut down the dog from eating them but he still find clumps here and there. Wife has had enough and told me to buy a bagger for the John Deere. Lowes here in Canada wanted $449 for a bagger for the D110 and Home Depot wanted $269. Used Home Depots price matching policy to my advantage and got the bagger there at the Lowes price plus they took another 10% off, so got the bagger for about $405. Still a lot of money so I hope it solve the problem.

Welcome back to the Sunshine State Kev. Speaking of which, we did hit 98F today. But that looks like it will be the high for the next week or so. Nothing on the 10 day forecast above 93F. #Coolspell.
