Anyone purchased any new or used haying equipment this year?
I bought a vicon rc330 haybob and a Fahr KM22 drum mower for the season.
Attach pictures of your new kit :)

So far this year;
Kioti RX6620 PS cab with KL7320 loader.
Land Pride DH 1590 disc harrow.
Land Pride RB 1684 rear scraper.
Not sure of the brand but an 11' spring tooth. (its old but was refurbished and looks brand new)
A 1986 ( I think ) 9' model 488 New Holland swather/conditioner.
A 1983 model 316 New Holland bailer.
Still looking for a V-rake, seeder, pallet forks, and a 3 point fertilizer spreader. Ya, all this should put my wife into full financial meltdown. I have been putting off buying anything for years, but the guy who was taking care of my land did not want to do it anymore. So about 50 grand later here I am, ready to grow hay!! I know I will never recover the cost. I call it therapy, just like my Harley and snow machine. (2012 Polaris Pro Retro) With any luck I can grow enough to get more cows and make a little cash.
One last thing; in early fall I plan to build a 45' X 72' pole barn to keep all my new toys in.
If I remember I will try to post pictures of everything when I get home. For some reason my work computer will not upload a picture.

Sounds like you have a good plan, how many acres of hay do you have to cut? I looked at the RX 6610 but it was just a bit larger frame size than I wanted so I stayed with the NX.

Right now about 15 acres. But when I retire (4 Years?) I plan to get more. I was going to get a 45-50 hp tractor, my wife is the one who wanted to get bigger and a cab. Who am I to argue with a woman? :)

sounds like a good plan, I have about that much right now I plan on baling myself but may wait till next season to get started. Yep nothing better than the wife making you buy a cab, same thing mine did. :)

Only problem I see is, my wife is a stay at home wife and I get to pay for everything.

Gonna attempt to add some pictures.I do not have any pictures of the swather yet, it's under a tarp, but here it is. DSCN1960.JPGDSCN1963.JPGDSCN1964.JPGDSCN1918.JPG The building next to the swather is coming down and that's where the new barn will be built later this year.

So I sold the vicon rc330 I just bought, turned a $300 profit in 2 weeks. Instead I got a fahr kh4, 4 star Tedder, and paid $50 for it from a guy who has no use for it any more. So now I have this trailed Tedder I can use the Tedder on all my tractors instead of just the IH I have that I planned to use it on. Having had first trials testing it out I am really impressed with this Tedder!! Also this Tedder is much nicer to take down the road. Towed it home no problems behind the truck about 25 miles home

new equipment this year...

2014 farmall 75c
John Deere 1209 MowCo/swather
Otma/Sitrex V-Rake

I'd really like to get a midsized rotary-style rake, but this Otma V-Rake i found was way too cheap to pass up (about $400) and it's ready to go.

Looking for a square bale accumulator and grapple now..75+ acres to do this season and that's way too much to be loading by hand.

So you have a swather and the haybine or are you calling the haybine a swather?

It is a New Holland 488 haybine, but I do refer to it as a swather a lot.DSCN1985.JPG
Here it is in action.DSCN1983.JPG

Wow! that is a lot of dust! With the ground that dry the hay should dry quick as the moisture can go both ways.

It does dry fast, in fact I baled a little to late. It sucks when my income paying job interferes with my hobbies. I should have been baling Friday morning but I have to work Fri, Sat and Sunday day shift. (12 hour days) So I baled Friday night. Like I have said in other post I'm new to this but there will be some changes by next year. I just haven't been able to get all done and bought that needed to beDSCN1999.JPG. We had some major upgrades where I work and I have been working pretty much every shift since March 1st. Hopefully ending this Sunday.:)
Ok, I know it's a little dorky, but this is the first hay bale I've ever grown cut and baled myself.
Good luck to all.

Congratulations! 1st hay bale made yourself is a big step! I especially like the orange and yellow ribbon!

Is it not a great feeling to have accomplished this yourself? My first cutting will be in two weeks when we get a break in the weather. Looking forward to trying out the hay grapple.

Well, that's how it was when I bought it. I almost put some new twine in front, but thought what the heck, I'll just use up what's there.:)
