The steel belting inside a tire is quite unique. Having the charred remains in your burn pile is all the evidence they need for a fine.

::Cough:: ::Cough:: Bias ply tires dont have steel belts...
Personally, I like some flakes of hay and some used motor oil. Usually 3/4 gallon of used motor oil per half bale works on dryish stuff.

Take about 5 gal. of used oil pour it on the trees all around, get about 5 gal. of diesel fuel put 1 1/2 gal. in a sprayer spray it on the bottom with news paper and light, keep it going until it goes on its own...If its to wet wait a while. This works.

Well, i did it quite a bit when burning many many brush piles. Aren't almost all gas tanks these days plastic?

Wow. 5 gallons of used oil and 5 gallons of diesel should be enough to burn down a small city.

I have about 50 large piles (some are 15 - 20 feet wide by about 10 feet high) of prickly pear cactus that were dozered late last year. They are spread out over three fields.

Bill, sorta offtopic, but other the dozering, what's the best way to get rid of prickly pear cactus.
20 years ago, my father planted one sprout in the front yard of their home. We all laughed "how cute".

He's gone now, but the cactus growth is about 20' in diameter and 10' tall. To me it's a just a rattlesnake haven with all the dead materials and leaves. I just want to get rid of it. I was told if I just pushed it all out to the pasture, it would just come back on it's own in the pasture.

Ideas?
