The 60 hp is already proving her worth! Got my 4wd 3/4 ton pick up loaded, with a trailer fully loaded, stuck in the muck yesterday! Hooked on to the trailer with a chain to the Kioti and it pulled them both out without even trying! That was nice!

This is some loader work cleaning out a residence crossing, wet weather creek due to heavy snow melt and 3 days of rain... I am slowly gaining some respect for the machine! Still don't really like the excess lag time in the forward/reverse pedals. Although it has had to 'reset' twice now, when it wouldn't move and I had to hit the CAL button. Then, after I hit the CAL button, the lag time was greatly reduced. The dealer said that they could recalibrate that, so I might have them do that, but thought I'd give it about 20 hours to see if it breaks in better.

Another nice video, Kapper. I think we ought to change your handle to "SmoothOperator." I like your "lift-and-curl" (and lower-and-dump) transitions. Looks like you've already mastered the feathering technique on the FEL control stick.

You say you're still experiencing hesitation when moving from the forward to the reverse pedal. On the video, I'm not really noticing that -- looks like a smooth transition to me. I do know that on my NX, if I have the throttle setting on "Linked Pedal", and the engine throttles down while changing to reverse, it takes a second or two before the rpms get back up to where the tractor starts to move. I love the Linked Pedal feature, but for quick loader-work transitions with HST, it's best left turned off (or over-ridden) and the hand throttle set at 1500 - 2000 rpm for faster response. But from the audio on your video, it sounds like that's what you're already doing.

Who holds the camera, wife or kids?

Lag time wise, have you tried different settings on the control knob?

CAL wise, something may not be right. I've never had to mess with mine, and I don't really have any lag to complain about between forward and rearward transitions.

My wife video's for me . As far as the lag time, something is not right. There is definitely too much. When I do loader work, I already don't use the pedal link. My CAL has come on like 5 times now. When it comes on the tractor will not move in forward or reverse. Then I hit the CAL button and it does some kind of 'reset.' Then it works well, with quick motion. But after a few minutes of use it slowly deteriorates and gets less and less responsive. Dang it, I'll have to have them try to recalibrate it I guess...

Thanks for the nice feedback on the videos. I've got a new one coming; How to break your headlights by hoisting a chicken coop roof/frame up!!! But the good news is that I only broke the lenses, so I don't need to replace the whole light units!!!!

I'm opening my grapple just as I approach the fire and using momentum to "throw" my load into the fire as I transition from forward to back (cf. 0:50-0:60 minute mark in video for the first "toss"). You can see how fast my transitions are by also noting the engine rpm. You should have the same performance, and it can become more abrupt by dialing back the sensitivity knob.

All to say, play with the settings, but maybe something is out of adjustment that the dealer can sort out like you're thinking.

Another entertaining video. :thumbsup: Those were your forward running light/warning light fixtures that were damaged. Maybe Eric can add some body armor for those to his future line of custom accessories for the NX series.

Whew, I was thinking of the front windscreen.

As to Threepoint's suggestion, I've thought about protectors for the running lights, except they are mounted so wimpy that guards wouldn't matter because their own mounts bend.

Wow, even I've never 'thrown' stuff in the fire yet with my Deere! I have 'dumped' stuff on..... Anyway, no, I am not getting that type of responsiveness, only immediately after the CAL light comes on and I have to hit it does it respond quickly. So, I've emailed the dealer to see about getting it looked at. Thanks.

Have you gone through the whole CAL process? I've never done it, but I posted instructions from the service manual how to do it (they are a bit cryptic still). The switch should always be in the off position (as pictured) except when calibrating the HST.

I didn't read through everything but have noticed that if you push both HST pedals at the same time the cal light will come on for a little while and you can not operate the tractor. I need more foot swing with the Mucks on.

You need a set of forks. Easy to do that safely with forks.
