Those permanent mounts sound great. My biggest beef with my homebrew mount is having to crawl under the tractor to bolt it on every time. If you can get the dealer to demonstrate mount/dismount procedure it might save you a lot of time trying to figure it out on your own.

Hope you have fun with the new tractor!

Up kinda late I do believe. Your weather is going to turn dry for next two weeks or so I think and I'm sorry for you folks really need rain or snow

30 this morning and headed to 45 today. Well I slept in this morning. So no plowing. Snow is melting. Expect roads to clear off by lunch. It did finally quit about 11 last night. Total was almost 4 inches. Usually about how well they do around here call for a dusting we get dumped on. Call for a foot we get a dusting.

Oh well. More work in chicken coop today. Think I might catch up by Monday or Tuesday. But then something else could break.

Good day all.

25.5F and cloudy @ 10:30 ...

A little slow getting moving today after a day of woodcutting and then working up in the shop until midnight.

The kid and I took down and cut up 5 ash trees yesterday ... I felled and bucked, he loaded the rounds into the loader bucket. Might have enough firewood for 5 to 7 days depending on temps. One big upside is that ash is very easy to split ... another one is that even unseasoned, ash burns really great.

After he left around 17:00 I worked up in the shop on the splitter until midnight. Got the pipe flange for the suction strainer and the riser for the filler/breather welded on. Then made a quick run over to The Depot to grab some black pipe and plastic fittings. Needed a couple of pipe plugs to seal off the supply and return holes in the reservoir so I could fill it with vinegar to clean/de-rust the inside.

Had no problem sealing the 1 1/2 NPT hole ... but the 2" NPT hole was a problem ... tried 3 different plugs with teflon tape and couldn't get it to seal ... finally picked out the tightest fitting plug and slapped some PFTE pipe joint compound on it and that did the trick apparently.

Happily, after filling the reservoir with 7 gallons of vinegar, I can report that there doesn't seem to be any leaks (initially) in any of my welds anywhere - either on the (3) pipe flanges or the end caps on the tube ... although the "acid test" (pun intended) will be if all 7 gallons are still in the reservoir when I go up there in a little bit ...

Should be able to make some good progress today, considering that I don't have to screw around with gathering firewood.

Hope everyone has a good and productive day.

Well it's a good feeling to fix something that was going to be thrown away.

A few days ago I broke the pipe off my foam gun.
Decided I could fix it by coiling wire over the pipe and binding it back to the body, with expoxy resin between each turn of wire.
Worked a treat, except ...

Next morning, my dear wife says "whats this" pointing to the top of the range cooker.
I'd left the foam gun on a piece of aluminium foil on top of the range to cure. A drop of expoxy had come off, somehow missed the foil below and is now stuck real good to the enamel surface.:duh:
Not sure how long it will be before I'm released from the dog house.

Nail polish remover. It will unstick pretty much anything.

Kyle,

I hope you're making the pilgrimage to Moo-Moo's when you visit Mom ... dead cow burgers that good deserve being consumed at every possible opportunity.

Good Morning. 1035, overcast, 47F with 97% humidity. Forecast high of 56F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, {although it was misting on my drive into work} and a low of 34F tonight. I know you guys up north have it worse, but it's a raw day here for us Southerns. I'm glad I'm working inside today.

I had a call at home last night from a young couple asking if they could have a baby shower today. I don't like work calls at home, or last minute events, but I let them go ahead. I did get an extra hour out of it.

Everyone stay warm and safe,

Larro

That reminds me of last summer when I glued one of my river sandals to the table. It was just a plastic table in my workout room, and I did discover it before the glue had set all the way. But there is still a mark there. I had to glue the other sandal yesterday, and I made sure there was lots of newspaper between the shoe and the table. Good luck getting your mess cleaned up.

Good morning all. 42F here in Gainesville TX. forecast for 60F Sunny and light winds. House walk throughs starting at noon (2 I know of). Hope to get a ride in. The last 2 rides were a little slow (13 mph ave) need to get more rides in to get back in shape. House inspection showed some structural deficiencies, and need to figure how to modify contract offer, may just pull it.
