You are not fooling anyone. We can all go back and see that you are simply repeating the same thing over and over, page after page. We all know why you are here and what you are up to. Might try a new tactic as this one is worn out.

It's like telling a blond a joke, just not worth it. You have to repeat it a dozen times and they still don't get it. SMH SSDD

Chris.

Keep up the fine work bashing and I'll keep pointing it out when you do it. I know you might think you are being sneaky but it's obvious to the rest of us what you are up to. You literally do the same thing almost every day on here. SSDD.

Not bashing, just facts.

I see in the Motor Trend comparison back on post #78 that the Ford 2.7L has to be wound up to 5,750 RPM's to make 325 HP. I can only speak for myself as a truck owner, but I'll say, I like my highway cruising rpm's to be under 2,000, as I think 99.9% do. Going down the highway in a truck screaming 6k RPM's to make 325 HP isn't a relaxed cruising setup, nor is it a good towing setup... but that's just me. I guess it's good for a promotional ad showing racing full RPM's up a hill. I personally don't do that with my truck, and don't care. You'll notice the RAM makes 420 ft/lb of torque at a quiet, pleasant 2,000 rpm's. That's nice for relaxed towing and highway cruising. You can also see on the chart that the Ford 2.7 has to be run 1,000 rpm's faster, and still only makes 375 ft/lb torque at that higher RPM.

This is all true but the 3.5 Ecoboost makes similar numbers at similar rpm's for less cost per mile and better overall performance.

The 2.7 is more of a base motor along with the 5.0 while the 3.5 Ecoboost and Ram Ecodiesel are premium options.

Interesting video racing 2015 trucks. Drag Times: 2015 Ford F-150 5.0L vs 2.7L vs 3.5L …: http://youtu.be/23O-hS-r0gQ

I am surprised the Hemi was that slow. I would have wagered it would have been faster than the 2.7 and 5.0 Ford along with the 5.3 GM. Disappointed they did not test the 6.2 GM.

I also thought it was funny he said the Rams tranny felt like it had something wrong with it. That coming from a self proclaimed Hemi/Dodge guy.

That little 2.7 Ecoboost was pretty fast. As a 3.5 Ecoboost owner I already mine wit was.

There was a reason that track was only 280 ft long...

Yes, to stay in the theme of their other testing. They stated it was at the beginning.

Even if it was a quarter mile the results would be the same, the Ecoboost 3.5 on top and the 5.3 GM and Hemi following. It would be a much closer race though.

Here is the thing though. They didn't post specs of the trucks. What rear gear did each of them have? Was the ram a 6 speed or an 8 speed? Who hosted this event? I'm sure the trucks were specced in the fords favor if it was a ford event. My 2500 power wagon with 35" tires posted a 0-60 in 353' 6.86 seconds. 1/4 mile 15.29 seconds 92mph. And it's not built for speed so the 1500 ram should be faster. If I was a betting man I'd bet the ram had the 6 speed transmission because the 8 speed is so smooth and quick you can't feel it shift and he wouldn't be saying something is wrong with the transmission.

They did run the 6.2 Chevy. It was the first vehicle they ran. 5.94 seconds.

This is a big truck acceleration and towing test and they dont give the rear end gearing? I haven't looked at car magazines for decades, doesn't sound like they are any better. By contrast I think some of the motorcycle magazines are better, I think do a pretty good job of staging tests with explicit details on everything and switching riders around trying to get some objectivity. The car magazines could do better if they wanted to, but I guess they have all the readership and ad money they need.

Yeah I watched the video again and in the beginning of the video it says it's a ford event. They didn't get the best competition they could. I did some looking in the web and the Rams are much faster than the times they posted for it. I'm sure the Chevys are too. One board I was looking at said the 6.2 turned a 9.4 1/8th mile stock. The ram 8 speed with 3.92 turned a 9.1 1/8th mile stock. I seen where most guys have seen almost a second difference between the 8 speed 3.92 gears and the 6 speed 3.21 gears. Also they were launching the ram wrong if you stall it above 1,000 rpm or stall it more than a few seconds the computer starts taking timing away. They were told by the ford guys there how to launch the fords for the best times. Went in a little rant there but what I'm really trying to say if you're going to do a test event like this don't be SCARED. Test your latest and greatest against the competitions latest and greatest too.
