59 and foggy. Should see the sun later and warm to 67. 30% chance of snowy mix tomorrow night.

Heading to 8 am DR office to take blood for annual physical (which is a couple years behind schedule). Then gym and then haircut and hope to be back home painting before noon.

Coffee is brewing. 32° with cloudy skies and wind gust over 30mph this morning. Heading to 37° with a mix of sun and clouds. Need to put the lawnmower and Track-Vac away for the winter today. Thinking about putting snow blade on tractor. But will probably wait until next week.
Drew, did you get your Kubota 4 wheeler back yet?
Irv, we got rid of our land line years ago. Best was getting Comcast. Not the best. But so much better than General/Verizon (now Frontier) phone company.
Good Morning All.

yes, and they say I did nothing wrong, the voltage regulator failed, did not charge the battery, that when I put a new fully charged battery in, something failed all the way and created a dead short, toasterizing a two inch square of potted plastic and luckily I got it unplugged before it ignited. I'm still not sure it's charging properly. Probably ought to put an inexpensive voltage meter on the dash, it's got room for it. And maybe a big Sun tach... for all the old farts who know what that is/was...:D

39F and cloudy @ 05:30 ...

High today is only supposed to be 41F ... dunno ... could be we've already hit it.

Worked on the ballast block night before last ... got the form built around the frame/rebar cage and got it all enclosed. Should have stopped there and saved the pour for another day/night (one where the weather was bad) ... but nooooo ... he just had to keep going ...

The result was I lost the last decent day weather-wise to get anything done outside ... which was kinda stupid.

Oh well ... I've come to the conclusion that it never all gets done anyways ... so why sweat it ?

Mixing 15 bags of 'crete, shoveling it into the form, and then getting the air pockets and bubbles out of it probably took around 8 or 9 hours ...

I started mixing around 03:00 and by the time I was done I could barely walk ... my lower back was killin' me ... somewhat better after a good night's sleep but it's still pretty sore.

Used a couple of pieces of bar stock and a needle scaler as a vibrator ... worked pretty good to consolidate the 'crete and pull up the air bubbles ...

I did manage to make a real mess tho' ... :D

Will have to build a fire starting tonight and keep it going for the next several days to keep it from freezing.

Hope everyone has a productive day.

Good morning! It's 39˚ on my friendly digital thermometer. It's friendly because it's sitting on the porch railing and always shows warmer in cold weather and cooler in hot weather. It's too cold to go out and check the old (Official) mercury thermometer. The high will only hit 50˚.

Yesterday I took the tiller off and put on the box blade and grapple on the tractor and went to grab some wood for the fireplace but got distracted and instead made 400' of trail through the woods.

I was picking the last bits up by hand when a very large group of yelping coyotes just beyond sight in the woods got too excited and too close for comfort, had to scadittle back to the tractor and call it a night.

I have read if you kill female pack coyote you will disrupt nature and the ones left in the pack will breed back faster and more often. With all the hunters in the area, that kill all wildlife that moves, I believe that is the situation out here.
