28 and heading to 58 again and sunny.

Planting shrubs and digging holes with your tractor instead of cleaning? How in the world did you make that choice? :)

Drinking first cup of coffee. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 45° with spotty showers all day. Weather radar shows snow this morning. But nothing is hitting the ground. I am not ready for snow. Need to get snow blade on tractor.
Good Morning All.

I don't care what the wunderground temps says, my thermometer out here away from the water says 38 degrees and the car looks almost frosty.
Well, maybe I'll reclean my sister's bathroom for a little bit and let that temp come up. Of course I could just turn the heat on in the tractor cab.
That a/c system in the cab draws some juice; I can feel the load on the engine and feel the governor adjusting. Wonder if heating does the same thing. It would if it were a heat pump, which I think it is. A tiny one for sure.

Snow, did I hear snow? oh that wonderful four letter word...

27F, clear sky. Low 40's today. Supposed to be dry and mostly sunny here for the next 3-4 days too.

I need to grab some 5 gal. plastic buckets and fill them at the town sand pile, then drop them off at the fire house. It is very handy to have some road sand on board the DRW squad truck in winter. The thing gets stuck in its own shadow. I used woven poly sand bags last winter but the salt in the road sand goes through those eventually.

Might be a good day to change the front axle and final drive gear fluid on the tractor. I need to get more UDT at the Kubota dealer too. A running around morning.

Have a good Saturday!

35F and partly cloudy @ 07:30 ...

There was probably a 1/4" layer of ice on the water in the wheelbarrow when I left the shop a couple of hours ago.

Got most of the lumber from yesterday's shopping trip unloaded out of the van ... only a 4" x 6" x 8' left. Also got the steel out ... sure not looking forward to the 1000# of concrete though ...

Had a hard time getting the shop warmed up ... the aspen really needs to season awhile to dry out. May have found out why it's called popple ... sounded like someone was sitting there throwing ladyfingers into the stove all night long.

Didn't really manage to get much of anything done ... other than building the rack for PHD auger bits ... need to hook up the PHD and pull the augers out of the ground and get a couple more measurements so I can finish it.

Time for a little nap now though, while it warms up outside.

Dave, aren't you running snow tires on that thing? And 4wd? I suppose I should ask where you are going with it... Drew
frankly it's making me wonder how my new drw truck is going to do in the supposedly bad winter we are going to get.
Nice Nexen all weather tires. And I've driven on ice and snow all my life, including driving a first in field truck/tac truck for three years.
I never got stuck, just wondering where you are you going? Your terrain is likely steeper though and while Philadelphia set a record last year for 77 inches of snow, I'm sure you got a lot more. Sometimes those big open lug tires don't do well in snow; better to get winter/snow truck tires.
With a spare set of rims, that might be a budget buster.

26 degrees, whaaaaaat....? Took the outdoor kitties some water and it had big chunks of ice when i poured it, at least it's sunny and calm right now. Gotta move the straw bales and fall type decorations with the old bucket tractor this afternoon, darn seat time!:D
